Furnace and The Fundamentals
20th of September 2024
Festival Hall, Melbourne
Their final show of the Australian tour, and they turned it into a finale; Furnace and the Fundamentals finished their fifth show in style to a packed Festival Hall with an even more loaded set-list.Â
Starting the night off early with It’s Raining Men filled the room with audience cheer and sing-a-long, but also littered the hall with inflatable male dolls and balloons. The balloons and dolls kept up the atmosphere with moving into Rasputin and group of tracks with high energy from the crowd. The night of course wouldn’t be an Australian tour without the Nutbush being stomped out by every patron there, and then a flow between the classics from the 70’s to now.
Wheeling a white baby grand piano turned heads with an Elton John segment of tracks, and then the same with a mock Titanic stern with a mirade of songs; pushing past the crowd and letting everyone get an up and close experience with their high energy character, and songs better than they remeber the originals.
Ending the night with Bohemian Rhapsody as an Furnace homage to Queen, pyro, confetti, and smoke all filled the festival hall as their Australian tour came to a very loud, nostaligic, and energetic conclusion.
