Prince Bandroom in St Kilda was alive with the sound of heavy metal on October 6th. Four bands, each with their own unique style and energy, took to the stage to deliver a night of unforgettable music.
Dregg, a local Melbourne nu-metal band, kicked off the night with a powerful set. Their music, which has recently been featured on Spotify’s “Homegrown + Heavy” playlist, resonated with the crowd, and they quickly set the tone for the evening.
Next up was Inertia, a Sydney-based band who brought their high-energy sound to the stage. Their track “Static” was a particular highlight, igniting the crowd and leaving a lasting impression.
Paledusk, a Japanese band, warmed up the crowd with their energetic performance. Their high kicks and high notes were a sight to behold, and their song “I’m Ready to Die for My Friends” had the entire room chanting along. They finished their set with “RUMBLE,” sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Ocean Grove, the headliners of the night, delivered a truly explosive performance. The pit was packed, and the crowd was singing along to every word. “Ask for the Anthem” was a crowd favorite, and during “My Disaster,” crowd surfers were launched towards the stage (Didn’t get it in the shots, but there were definitetly a few Converses connecting with jaws). The band’s set culminated with “Raindrop,” which saw vocalist Dale Tanner being crowd-surfed into the crowd with a camera. We’re stoked to see the footage from this unforgettable moment.
The night at the Prince Bandroom was a heavy metal lover’s dream. Each band brought their own unique energy and style to the stage, creating an atmosphere that was both intense and exhilarating. We love the Melbourne Music scene, and can’t wait to see what each artist has planned next on their radars.
