The Butterfly Effect

The Forum, Melbourne

It’ been twenty years since The Butterfly Effect launched debut album ‘ Begins Here’, and album that would cement their name into Australian music history.

Opening with the iconic intro, Clint Boge stands at the back of the stage for the first two songs, the band doing most of the heavy lifting. With iconic guitar riffs, the band are sonically in sync and sounding what can only be described as perfection.

Running through the album in cronlogical order, the show kicks off with the iconic Intro, followed by Perception Twin and there really is no stopping Boge as he powers through the album. Not stopping for much banter, Boge sticks to getting through the music and reminding everyone in the audience exactly why the band are so popular with Australian audiences.

Towards the end of the set, Boge begins to relax into the show, slowing things down with an acoustic version of Overwhelmed, which works really well. Following through with the final songs of the album A.D and Outro the band have performed the album in its entirety to such perfection.

Ending the show with an encore of Gone, Window and the Watcher, Take it Away and finally Reach, The Butterfly Effect have once again shown Melbourne audiences why they have lasted 20 years in the music industry.
