Descending from the City of Angels, L.A. based electronic bass producer Aftrlyfe drops a three-track subsonic project ‘Worlds Collide’, now available on all streaming platforms, featuring UK grime and hip-hop emcee Rider Shafique. The EP focuses on the “transformative magic of the dark arts and the revolutionary lyricism of a world set to embrace justice through the poetry of analog beats”.

The timely, sobering, and impactful music video for his second track ‘Babylon a Burn’ will be out on August 11th.
With a powerhouse collaboration with UK-based artist Si?lke, blending in perfectly with a post-rock production and Rider’srootsy vocals, this EP is nothing short of hip and groovy. The three heavily synth-based tracks seem to be telling a seriesof chronological stories, starting with the contemplative and atmospheric ‘Dive Deep’. The second track ‘Babylon a Burn’ furthers the theme with a more upbeat cinematic music, leading to climactic crescendos in its penultimate track ‘Rise from the Ashes’.
Aftrlyfe’s music is reminiscent of the trip hop vibes of Massive Attack, and his influences also include FKA Twigs, Run the Jewels, and 6Lack, among others. When asked for a defining album that influenced him, he answered Radiohead’s ‘In Rainbows’, which was a sonic illustration of emotions that made him feel beyond what was known before.

“If there is one message I hope people can take from my music, it would be this: Make your voice heard. These
frequencies we create can move mountains. Your duty as an artist is to shine light on the truth. Life is short, in the end all that really matters is how much we loved.” – Aftrlyfe
During his first project, Aftrlyfe performed in California’s annual music festival, Lightning In a Bottle, as well as in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. So be sure to keep posted on more updates by following his socials down below!
