Winter has only just set in, it’s already starting to heat up like a whole new summer season, thanks to Sydney DJ/Producer Jesse Porsches’ return today with his brand-new single ‘Know U’.Featuring the vocals of LA indie pop star Sarah McTaggart of Transviolet fame, this joyful new jam is available now on all streaming platforms via Dew Process/UMA. Opening with swooning piano chords and crispy clicks, ‘Know U’ delicately builds layers around McTaggart’s stunning voice, before giving away to Jesse Porsches ’signature, pop-infused drop. It’s an infectious beat that floods into the song, lifting it into a new, triumphant sonic realm that is filled with energy and light.
Speaking about ‘Know U’, Jesse says that the song came together spontaneously during a trip to the US. “The song came off the back of an extended writing trip in LA. We decided to jump in the studio with Transviolet very last-minute, and it just worked!”Despite the ease with which it emerged and its bright spirit, Jesse says ‘Know U’ is quite deeply rooted in emotional foundations. “The song is about not knowing if you’re going to make it in a relationship, but being okay with it. It’s a personal one for both myself and Sarah (Transviolet), and we’re super happy with how the track turned out!” ‘Know U’ is the highly-anticipated follow-up to Jesse Porsches 2017 singles ‘The Weekend’and ‘Say It To Me,’which saw Jesse finally branch-out on his own as a solo performer and producer. Jesse initially made a name for himself as the co-producer on Flume’s 2011 breakout single ‘Sleepless’, and then as the mastermind behind the huge 2015 single ‘Horses.’
F It also follows the launch of his amazingly successful side-project Super Cruel – the duo Jesse formed with fellow rising electronic star Tigerilla – with whom he had the hit singles ‘November’ (feat. Lisa Mitchell)and ‘Sicklaced’ (feat. CXLOE). It’s the kind of success that saw Jesse recognised as a true Australian songwriting talent, and ultimately lead him to sign a global publishing deal with BMG. To coincide with the release of ‘Know U,’Jesse will be performing a number of club dates around the country, bringing his high energy, “let’s take the party everywhere” live show that has seen him light up night clubs, beachside pool parties, and snow-covered, alpine festivals. That undeniable energy that has seen Jesse become a sought-after support act in Australia as well, having performed alongside the likes of Skepta, BookaShade, Tensnake, and his label-mate TkayMaidza.
