Melbourne’s southside music celebration, Live N Local Festival, has today revealed a preview of the 2018 program with the announcement of four special events. Spanning eight days from 25 August to 1 September, City of Port Phillip’s local music festival promises to deliver an exciting and diverse line-up of exceptional talent at this year’s event.

In a first-of-its-kind event, UnderSCORE will see audiences experience the immersive nature of video game soundtracks in an orchestral concert at the Alex Theatre in St Kilda. Presented by The Otherworld Agency and supported by Creative Victoria and APRA AMCOS, the event aims to showcase the rapidly-growing video game industry and gaming soundtracks, which encompass the same depth and complexity associated with scores from feature films, if not more, due to the need for them to be interactive and able to adjust to gameplay. With exclusive arrangements by Kevin Penkin, the Crescendo Orchestra will perform a live symphonic rendition of celebrated Australian video game scores against a cinematic backdrop of the accompanying gameplay.
