With Bello Winter Music kicking off next week (12-15 July) organisers have announced Melbourne outfit Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever will join the line-up, replacing Justin Townes Earle who cancelled his Australian tour last week.

The guitar driven quintet are absolutely smashing it in Australia and overseas having just finished a 50-show international tour that included UK’s Great Escape and US Coachella.

Rave reviews are coming from all directions for their recently released debut album ‘Hope Downs’ which was recorded in Bellingen (drummer Marcel Tussie’s hometown) so it is fitting they will return to the album’s birthplace for Bello Winter Music.

The band worked with engineer/producer Liam Judson (Cloud Control, Tigertown) to record and co-produce the album over two weeks. “We were right at the foot of this beautiful mountain next to a creek,” says White. “We could play out into the bush through the night.”

This time around in Bellingen they’ll be playing out into the happy crowds of Bello Winter Music!

Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever play Bello Winter Music 6pm Saturday 14 July & 3pm Sunday 15 July at the Memorial Hall.

Saturday tickets set to sell out!

Bello Winter Music festival is moments away from selling out Saturday tickets with just over a week to go until festival lift-off. Tickets are also selling fast for Opening Night Gala Thursday 12 July and festival days Friday 13 July and Sunday 15 July.

Festival GM, Maggie Quirk sums up the new aspects of the festival which will be seen for this first time this year, “We’re always trying to add new and interesting elements to the event. This year the Bellingen Showground Main Pavilion will become a new venue on Saturday and Sunday; The Bellingen Growers’ Markets will host a special festival concert featuring Rebecca Ireland on Saturday morning; Kombu Wholefoods will see the introduction of a footpath stage out the front of the store; 2bbb FM will conduct their live broadcast from People Of Coffee courtyard and Hyde Bellingen will become an official festival venue on festival Saturday. On the eco side of things, the event is moving toward a waste free festival with reusable cups being introduced in the festival bar at the Memorial Hall.”

Top picks for not to be missed acts include rap/jazz fusionists, Astro Travellers; Tasmania’s Aussie twanged lyricist, Maddy Jane; the brooding Dave Dondero, namedone of the world’s top living songwriters (National Public Radio, USA); the ever loved, award winning Irish song master, Roesy; and of course, the notorious Deborah Conway & Willy Zygier, Lior, Caiti Baker and Festival Patron, Jack Carty with Gus Gardinerto name a mere few.

Venues throughout Bellingen are bracing for another sell-out crowd as festival organisers tie up the last loose ends before kickoff.
