Red Deer Festival Interview Series: Pink Matter

Pink Matter

The Red Deer Festival is just around the corner and with such an epic line up we grabbed some of the artists to have a bit of a chat about all things music, and why you must see them at Red Deer. Consider it an inside look at what to expect from this fantastic festival and what you want to highlight.

The mysterious girls of Pink Matter tell us all about themselves.

You have an interesting band name, how did you come up with it?

Frank Ocean sparked the inspiration because we all loved the song, but we really liked the concept of the name and how the words sounded together.

Tell us more about the four of you, what made you form a band?

We all met at Uni and that’s how Pink Matter formed, but we’re super close friends outside of band stuff and spend a lot of time just hanging out with each other. We all come from different backgrounds and have different tastes, so it’s cool when we all come together because it’s a big conglomerate of all of our quirks.

What can fans expect at one of your shows?

Expect nothing and you’ll never be disappointed.

What’s up next for the girls of Pink Matter?

We’ve got a big project in the works, which is super exciting, but in the meantime we’re just planning to keep gigging and collaborating with as many artists as possible.

Red Deer Festival is a big event, what is going to make you stand out?

We’re just really excited to be involved, and hopefully our music speaks for itself on the day.

How do you best describe your sound?

Smooth, glitchy soul clusterfuck.

Make sure to catch their set at Red Deer Festival and find out what the girls are all about.
