FLORENCE + THE MACHINE
LAUNCH A DAY ON THE GREEN SEASON
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS BILLIE EILISH
AND MARLON WILLIAMS
MT DUNEED ESTATE, SATURDAY JANUARY 19
FLORENCE + THE MACHINE will return to Australia next January for a string of national headline dates including a one-off a day on the green concert at Mt Duneed Estate, Geelong on Saturday January 19.
Roundhouse Entertainment Promoter Michael Newton said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing another world-class act to Geelong. I can’t think of a better way to kick off our new season than with a superstar and extraordinary performer like Florence + The Machine. This will be our 10th show at Mt Duneed Estate, and after last year’s record-breaking Robbie Williams concert, the shows just keep getting bigger and better. After 18 years and 453 shows, we look forward to continue to bring diverse line-ups and some of the world’s biggest acts to regional venues across the country.”
Breakout 16-year-old sensation BILLIE EILISH will join FLORENCE + THE MACHINE in Geelong as well as singer-songwriter MARLON WILLIAMS.
The vocal powerhouse that is Florence Welch will be undertaking her sixth tour here, taking in capital cities across the country for their biggest ever Australian shows.
“Florence’s infectious enthusiasm and pure abandon on being on stage in front of 6000 people who adore her makes her concert so much more than a rendition of her recording. It’s communal ecstasy”

“It was a show that started at a million miles an hour and never really slowed down”
Sydney Morning Herald
“Mesmerising doesn’t begin to cut it”

“It was as a spiritual experience to behold”
The AU Review
For the first time since their epic sold-out November 2015 tour, which featured four back-to-back Sydney Opera House Forecourt performances, Florence Welch and her band return to unleash their captivating live show on Australian audiences. “Florence is not one to be tame, nor is her band one to shy away from eccentric production and excessive grandeur,” the Sydney Morning Herald announced of their most recent Australian shows, while The Music declared, “Her presence on stage was nothing short of captivating and if her flowing red hair and bare feet didn’t give her the persona of a goddess, her angelic voice did”.
Released globally this week, FLORENCE + THE MACHINE’S latest offering, Big God, is a raw and enchanting affair, and is the third single to be taken from their highly anticipated fourth album, High As Hope, out next Friday June 29. As Paste Magazine notes, “If Welch’s ethereal vocals made her sound like a goddess on previous tracks, she’s a distinctly grounded one on Big God – Big God is sparser, but gorgeously so.” Earlier this year, Florence + The Machine performed their brooding second single, Hunger, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
High As Hope is as intimate as it is epic, venturing into new sonic territory whilst reaching back to Florence’s roots. The new album will feature collaborations from the likes of Kamasi Washington, Sampha, Tobias Jesso Jr, Kelsey Lu and Jamie xx, and as Florence describes it, “is a pure expression of who I am now, as an artist, and an honest one”.
The UK artist has dazzled fans and critics alike across three celebrated studio albums: Lungs (2009), Ceremonials (2011) and How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (2015), which produced a slew of worldwide hits including, You’ve Got The Love, Dog Days Are Over, Shake It Out, Spectrum (Say My Name) and Never Let Me Go among many others.
In a huge coup, breakout 16-year-old artist BILLIE EILISH will join FLORENCE + THE MACHINE in Geelong (as well as on their Sydney and Adelaide dates). Earlier this year, Billie played her debut Australian shows, thrilling fans at St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival and two sold-out headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Her latest single, Lovely (with budding superstar Khalid) is an emotional pop affair and has already gone Gold in Australia while racking up more than 97 million streams.
Supporting FLORENCE + THE MACHINE on their Australian dates is New Zealand indie-troubadour, MARLON WILLIAMS. Marlon has just completed a sold-out world tour for his sophomore album, Make Way For Love, which included major US television appearances on CONAN and Last Call With Carson Daly, plus recent tours with the likes of Bruce Springsteen and City & Colour.
Don’t miss out when FLORENCE + THE MACHINE return in January to play fan favourites and debut songs from High As Hope in their very first a day on the green performance.
Tickets go on sale at 12.00pm midday on Thursday June 28 from Ticketmaster.
