With a unique blend of pop, funk, electronic and soul, Sunset City have created an up-beat summer hit that oozes with charm. Managing to spin a darker moment into a bit of light-hearted fun;
Parker explains, “We were down at the studio and I was telling this story about this girl who robbed me in Hong Kong. They all thought it was pretty funny, and before we knew it, we were all singing over this dark, funky music we had made earlier that morning!”
Alongside the single release, the trio are premiering the official music video for ‘Pockets‘ – a dark intriguing tale of a bank robbery gone wrong, interspersed with charismatic clips of the trio performing the track live.
Consisting of Parker Rose (vocals), Matt Scully (guitar), and Rob Johnson (bass), the trio have been likened to Maroon 5, and The Weeknd. No stranger to big crowds themselves, the band have recently played shows at Suncorp Stadium, Commonwealth Games 1YTG and Surfers Paradise Live. Recently featuring on Bombs Away‘s radio single ‘Let You Down’ the Gold Coast locals have already seen a tonne of radio support across Australia, London and the US, and are excited to be sharing their debut single worldwide today.
Sunset City’s ‘Pockets’ is out now on Tinted Records.
