Gaerea brought their atmospheric and moody post-black metal sound to Max Watts on Friday. Infused with catchy hooks and a steady, driving backline the Portuguese outfit did not hold back. Their charismatic front man wooing the crowd into a hypnotic trance as they pummelled through their catalogue with confidence and ease. Unique and multilayered each song delivered a cathartic release of emotions as it weaved its way through deep visceral riffs and melodies.
