Amy Shark

Rod Laver Arena

Friday 4th March

After a warm Melbourne afternoon, the rain gently falls down as the masses make their way into Rod Laver Arena to finally get to experience Amy Shark’s much rescheduled ‘Cry Forever’ tour.

As the mixed demographic of fans fill the large arena, supports Teenage Joans & Evie Irie do a superb job of warming up the eager & energetic punters, keen for a a night of much needed entertainment.

Amy Shark is a consummate performer with a swag of awards to her name over her short career, punctuated by three brilliant albums. This tour is in support of Shark’s  2021 ‘Cry Forever’ album seeing a bunch of dates around the country including an appearance at Bluesfest in Byron Bay in April.

Opening with the tracks, ‘The Wolves’, ‘Everybody Rise’, ‘All The Lies about me’, sees the receptive crowd mesmerised with a brilliant light show & a tight three piece band backing Shark throughout the show.

Standout tracks included ‘C’mon’ (which features Travis Barker on drums on the recorded version), ‘Worst Day of my life’, ‘Psycho’ & a fantastic cover of The Killers ‘Mr Brightside’ had the arena on their feet.

The last couple of songs were a highlight featuring the Ed Sheeran co-written ‘Love songs ain’t for us’, which also has guitar maestro Keith Urban playing on the track & the nigh culminated with the super hit ‘I said hi’.

A fantastic evening of entertainment & music truely heralding the return of LIVE music to Melbourne town.
