Mika, The Forum Melbourne

Its a warm evening in Melbourne, one for romantic dates and love. Luckily for a few thousand people the flirtatious Mika is in town and he’s here to take us all on a date he informs us.

Its been thirteen years since Mika last toured Australia so his date with the audience is long over due. But he makes up for it sauntering onto the stage to open with ‘ Ice Cream’ and large grin in his handsome face.

Having been supported by Chela,  who sang a number of songs and displayed some rather unusual interpretative dance the crowd is more than ready to welcome Mika.

Playing a selection  of hits spanning his entire discography including ‘ Big Girls ( You are beautiful)’ , ‘ Underwater’  ‘ Grace Kelly’ and ‘ Relax, Take it Easy, Mika is a flurry of energy, captivating the crowd and inspiring a huge dance party. He is fun, frivolous and certainly entertaining. For the entire evening as he jumps, launches himself into the crowd and flirts, Mika has the crowd captivated and enraptured- never losing them for a second.

Pausing to tell the story behind his break out hit ‘ Love Today’, he goes into detail about a woman named Carolina whom he met on the I-95 in Miami, his inspiration for the unconventional love song. As soon as the first bars play the crowd goes into melt down, dancing to the infectious beat.

For one evening Mika has allowed us to forget any drama or stress and to let go and have fun. Breathless and sweaty the crowd lingers on, to savour what has been a delicious night of dancing and joy.

If this was our first date Mika, can we go steady?
