Rising to the top of a large castle, flanked by dancers in red, The Weeknd heralds his arrival into the stadium with thunderous applause.
Back in Australia for back to back Melbourne shows as a part of the ‘ After Hours Till Dawn’ tour, the show is a spectacle of aural pleasure.
Rising star Chxrry22 opens the evening with her unique and sexy performance, a natural on stage, the arena completely falling in love with the Canadian star. She performs like a seasoned professional, delighting everyone.
Opening with ‘ The Crowd’, running around the castle he encourages the crowd, whipping them up into a frenzied state.
Running through the hits at a rapid pace he plays ‘ Can’t Feel My Face’ and ‘ Take My Breath’ before the pyrotechnics kick off, lighting up the stage.
The set design and choreography for the show are exceptional, transporting the audience to a whole different reality. Dancers in red robes add to the atmosphere, an enigmatic dance performance that adds to the experience.
The Weeknd doesn’t just perform he creates what has been exceptional, a two hour visual spectacular event, the atmosphere electric, the energy in the stadium buzzing.
Ending the set with popular numbers ‘ Blinding Lights’ and ‘ In Heaven’ The Weeknd has delivered a memorable performance, and taken the audience to a fantasy land of an alternate reality, singing along to every single note, captivated the entire time.
