Brisbane’s Concrete Surfers deliver huge walls of fuzz and bass with forward thinking lyrics and an anti-establishment flair.
Brothers Jovi & Jamie Brook (vocals, guitar and drums respectively) paired up with mates Sean Foster (lead guitar) and Trent Courtenay (Bass) in high school for what has become a fast moving trajectory for the group of four kids from the South East Queensland suburbs.
‘My Dream Rider’ by CONCRETE SURFERS
- SLAB OF AUSTRALIAN HEAVYS
Drinking is fun but don’t over-do it before going on stage (Lesson from personal experience). However, the only beer worth drinking for us is a slab of Insert slab of Australian heavy lager
- BACKYARD CRICKET SET
No better way to get in the mood for a show if some light-hearted competition is involved prior. It would also be a great and inclusive way to have some fun with people backstage and other bands/artists!
- SUPER SOAKERS
Sometimes it’s undesirable to be at a summer festival on the east coast of Australia during midday without a way to cool yourself down. This right here is the solution
- ASSORTMENT OF CHIPPIES N DIPPIES
A nice light meal before playing is key so we don’t feel too heavy I reckon. French onion dip essential and there is these really yummy tomato and onion chippies that Sean and Jovi love.
- A QUIET SPACE
Sometimes all we really want is a nice quiet space to have a chat before we go on stage and become loud. It’s a good way to destress if we have been on the move all day trying to get to the venue.
- SOMEBODY TO GIVE OUR GEAR TO
This is a big one for us because it can be kinda stressful after a show when you wanna have a few drinks and then get an Uber home but it’s impossible to fit our gear plus us into a small car haha. Disclaimer: Don’t get too sloshed between the show and home and leave a guitar outside of the venue only to have it never returned (This really happened and it’s still quite sad).
- BIG FAN OR AIRCON
We are really sweaty at the best of times so this would be a nice touch to remain comfortable.
