Australia, a legendary tour is headed your way this May with esteemed American rockers He Is Legend officially set to return down under. With the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth locked and loaded, He Is Legend will also be joined by Gold Coast heavy-hitters Hammers for a momentous run of shows, kicking off at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse on Wednesday 17 May before heading to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and closing out at Badlands in Perth on Wednesday 24 May.

A rock’n’roll hurricane straight outta south east Queensland, the Gold Coast’s Hammers wield blazing riffs, boisterous beats and pounding basslines like nobody’s business. Fresh off touring their 2020 EP Kicking Goals post-COVID, including a stop in 2022 at Blacken Open Air Festival in Alice Springs, Hammers will appease fans with an appetite for the likes of Every Time I Die, Alice In Chains and The Bronx – but with a distinctly Aussie twist. Whether they’re supporting some of the genre’s best, headlining around Australia or hurling riffs and tongue-in-cheek frivolity on festival stages, always expect the unexpected from a Hammers live set.

To celebrate, Hammers themselves have opened up their dream rider wish-list, and you’ll just have to pop along to one of the shows to find out if all 10 items made the cut.

1. A looped instructional video of how to reverse a trailer on a big screen.

2. Watermelon, but only during summer shows. Ya can’t beat a watermelon on a hot day.

3. Individual beanbags and snuggle rug. Sometimes it’s hard to sleep on the road and ya gotta get it when ya can.

4. Fairy Bread, we love fairy bread. Who doesn’t?

5. Mission Corn Chips – Chilli and Lime. As a band we’ve debated this numerous times and concluded that this is the perfect chip.

6. A never-ending case of Melb Bitter.

7. A framed autographed photo of Suze Demarchi. Every Australian live music venue should have a portrait of Suze just like every bowlo and club has a sneaky lil framed number of the Queen hidden somewhere.

8. Half decent shit tickets, like Quilton or Sorbent. Not that peasant grease proof paper most venues have to wipe ya bum with.

9. Two white doves. Why have one when you can have two, right?

10. Captives (the band) just to talk shit and sink a few tins with cause we love and miss em.
