The full lineup of the annual Riverboats Music Festival was announced today with Bernard Fanning, Kate Miller-Heidke, Troy Cassar-Daley, Something for Kate and Archie Roach all performing at the Murray River’s annual celebration of live music from February 14-16, 2020.

Taking place across three glorious summer days in the twin towns of Echuca-Moama, Riverboats will once again feature some of the most beloved and exciting names in Australian music, staged in a natural amphitheatre under towering river red gums.

With paddlesteamers meandering past the festival stage all weekend, Riverboats 2020 also features performances by the Go Betweens’ Robert Forster, Dyson Stringer Cloher, Bob Evans, Mama Kin Spender, Ainslie Wills, Horns of Leroy featuring Thando, Matt Joe Gow and Jess Locke. Rockwiz’s Brian Nankervis will once again take the reins as Festival MC.

Festival Director David Frazer has pulled out all stops for Riverboats 2020:

“We are thrilled to be bringing together a collection of Australian artists representing the absolute cream of the crop. With the Murray River as our backdrop, Riverboats once again provides a welcome tonic to many of the bigger events taking place across the summer months. If a picnic rug and a good bottle of wine is how you like your festivals these days, come and join us for a weekend on the river.”

Riverboats famous paddlesteamer sideshows are set to expand in 2020 with the inclusion of five unique acoustic performances over the festival weekend. Held aboard the historic Pride of the Murray paddlesteamer, Riverboats is the only music festival in Australia providing festival goers the opportunity to experience a one-hour live performance whilst cruising down Australia’s longest river. In 2020 these sideshows will include performances by Mama Kin Spender, Matt Joe Gow, Jess Locke, Horns of Leroy and Ainslie Wills.

In addition, Riverboats’ beloved Annual Festival Breakfast returns to the Beechworth Bakery on Sunday, February 16 with live sets by alt-country artist Matt Joe Gow. One of the weekend’s hot-ticket events, the Festival Breakfast sells out each year and punters are encouraged to book early.

Just two and a half hours north of Melbourne, the historic town of Echuca-Moama boasts a broad range of accommodation options within walking distance of the festival site, from local camping and caravan options to five-star serviced apartments, Air BnBs, houseboats, backpackers and quality motels.
