Alongside the trio, is the legendary double bassist Jonathan Zwartz, and a luscious string quartet with arrangements penned by some of Australia finest composers – Iain Grandage, Joe Chindamo and Steve Newcomb, and Michael himself reading his poetry.

The trio have also announced national tour dates commencing on October 28 at Melbourne’s International Jazz Festival followed by performances in regional NSW, Wangaratta, Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney and Adelaide with the tour wrapping with two shows in Perth on December 9 and 10.

Supporting the band on tour is Charm of Finches made up of Melbourne sister duo Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes who are set to deliver their intricate folk-pop on all dates excluding Adelaide. The sisters were the recipients of the Australian Folk Music Awards Best Folk Album (2022) and Music Victoria Best Folk Act (2021) and their music has been nominated twice for the prestigious Australian Music Prize. They released their third full length album Wonderful Oblivion in 2021 through New York-based label AntiFragile Music to critical acclaim and they have since toured extensively through the UK, Europe and Canada.

New Adelaide favourites Laurel are supporting Elixir on December 8 at Trinity Sessions and will be wowing crowds with their beautiful voices and exquisite harmonies.
