Titillating electronic duo HI MOTIVE have today released their new single ‘Gone’, an enigmatic mix of melodic vocals and infectious synths. The track is beautiful yet complex, as it explores the inner narrative of loss and naivety experienced in the fallout of a faltering relationship.

Based in Inner Sydney, HI MOTIVE consists of Matt Rowe and Ed Rose, who first began writing music together in their dorm room at UNSW back in 2014. With Ed hailing from Tasmania and Matt from Queensland, the pair instantly bonded over their love of all kinds of music, joining a band together and performing across Sydney. After discovering electronic production they began creating rough mixes together in the walls of their dorm room and developing their sound into melodic, moody yet infectious beats – hooking you in more with each listen.

‘Gone’ is the third release by HI MOTIVE, since forming this year, with their debut release ‘Falling’ reaching #1 on the Triple J Unearthed Electronic Charts.  Their follow up single ‘Silk’ also reached #2 on the Triple J Unearthed charts and racked up over 30K streams, as well as 4 star reviews from Dave Ruby Howe, Tommy Faith and Declan Byrne.

Off the back of their recent sold out Sydney ‘Silk’ launch event in July, the pair will be performing live in September alongside Kira Puru, Tom Tilley and others at Jam In A Jar Sydney, a charity event by UNSW raising funds for Headspace.

Don’t sleep on HI MOTIVE and their new infectious single ‘Gone’ out now!
