Australia’s favourite folkster Kim Churchill unveils his forthcoming album It’s Lovely To Have You Here, due for release Friday 11 October. Celebrating the announce, Kim delivers a taste of what’s
to come with new single “Wonder”.
Warming hearts with his inspiring lyrics and sun-drenched guitar, “Wonder” takes listeners on a sonic adventure through Canada’s Rocky Mountains. Kim shares the inspiration behind the track,
“The track was a cool little guitar idea I discovered whilst I was in the Rockies. I think the awe I felt over the mountains and the incredible adventures we were having led me to that deep little spark we feel inside when we’re dreaming about travel and journeys we want to make. The feeling you
get sitting by a warm fire inside at night imagining a wild adventure you’re heading off on in the future.”
In addition to “Wonder”, his recent releases “Calm The Sea” and ”Hobbies” offer sonic insights into his new album It’s Lovely To Have You Here, due for release Friday 11 October. The singles have been praised by Happy Mag, cherishing Kim’s poignant songwriting saying, “The message is
reassuring enough to sustain you for the rest of the year.”
Staying true to his wanderlust spirit, Kim is in the midst of his 16 date tour of Canada before
returning to Europe for another whirlwind run, headlining a stack of shows across the continent in November.
Since 2009, Kim Churchill has been a staple in the Australian and International folk scene. Striking a chord across the globe with his laidback acoustic sound, Kim has played stellar sets at renowned
festivals including Glastonbury Music Festival, Montreal’s International Jazz Festival and South By South West, along with a stack of home grown festivals. Raised on the coastal town of Merimbula, Kim’s decade long industry experience spreads far and wide, with the songwriter
previously crowned Australia’s National Youth Folk Artist of the Year and nominated for the National Live Music Awards Roots Act of the Year.
In 2023, Kim returned with his seventh-studio album Dawn Sounds, highly praised by industry and fans alike. Capturing hearts with singles “Fighter”, “Please Come Home (Feat. Steph Strings) and “Go Try Fall”, Kim wrapped up his biggest regional tour to date before an impressive run of international shows across Europe, the UK and Canada. A true troubadour, Kim continues riding a
wave of adventures in 2024 with a new album and exciting shows on the horizon.
