The Grass Is Greener successfully returned to the festival arena boasting a huge crowd on the 23rd of October at the Cairns Showground. Now, its sister festival The Backyard Series just received a huge boost on the eve of its debut run of regional shows.

Cue Example, the UK artist who has in recent years relocated to Brisbane with his family and re-ignited his career in a big way with his new single – ‘Every Single Time ft What So Not + Lucy Lucy’. Having spent well over a decade in the game, the UK mainstay has crafted a career drenched in accolades: Platinum albums, chart-topping singles and headline festivals slots. You name it, he has done it.

Example will be joining multiple ARIA award-winning duo  Peking Duk to co-headline the inaugural event series. They will be joined by Sydney’s electro-pop artist Boo Seeka, newly added party starters Little Fritter and internationally acclaimed EDM juggernaut Will Sparks. Jade Zoe, Jesswar and Tenzin will round out an all Australian superstar lineup.

After festival organisers smashed The Grass Is Greener to be a success once again, The Backyard Series will be making stops in Townsville, Toowoomba, Mackay and Gladstone this October/November. And the owner and founder Oli Frost could not be more thrilled sharing:

“It feels great to be able to bring an incredible festival to these regional places and share what has just been a successful event over the weekend all across QLD with The Backyard Series. To have Example jump on board is absolutely Iconic, especially to get to these areas in Australia, he has been a global star for well over a decade and we are very lucky to have him share his music with our punters.”
The Backyard Series also are very excited to announce its partnership with Support Act, an industry beacon that has and continues to provide much-needed crisis relief services to artists, artist managers, crew and music workers. An organisation, dependent on donations from state and national government agencies and some of the country’s most influential companies, artists and brands.

“Support Act is very excited to partner with The Backyard Series music festival in fundraising efforts for the music industry during this current crisis. Funds raised will go towards helping artists, managers, crew and music workers in crisis in the Australian music industry” – Louise Sawilejskij, Fundraising and Marketing Associate Support Act
