Brisbane alternative rock band The Comfort share their fifth single, “Bloom” from upcoming sophomore album ‘Experience Everything. Live And Die.’ out November 11 via Greyscale Records. Pre-order’s live now.

“Bloom” is a reflection on the good and bad parts of a relationship that has come to an end, and explores the grief and self discovery that follows. “Immediately following a failed relationship you’re forced into a period of self discovery,” explains Dominic Harper. 

“You truly discover who you are, who you are supposed to be and who you can be. Only once you’ve had that process so many times, can you be ready for a flourishing relationship with yourself and eventually also with someone else – ‘being alone is just a stepping stone to a goddamn blessing’.”

Produced, mixed and mastered by Jimmy Alexander (Awaken I Am, Slaves, alt.), ‘Experience Everything. Live And Die.‘ is The Comfort’s return to form. In May of this year, the band unveiled their forthcoming album’s release date and track listing, which not only welcomed special guest AJ Perdomo from The Dangerous Summer to the project, but also Dylan Davidson of Deadlights. Now with five singles shed from the forthcoming album, the nostalgic and impassioned “Bloom” joins “Grace”, “Love Is A Dying Plant”, “Conformist” and “Supernova” featuring AJ Perdomo. So far the band have seen play on Kerrang Radio UK, triple j, triple j Unearthed, Triple M Hard N Heavy and extensively on community radio and have already collected well over 150,000 digital streams on the album singles. 

Triple j Home and Hosed host Declan Byrne affirmed: “the comfort sound like they’re not short on ambition and feeling on this new one!” on “Love Is A Dying Plant”. Beat Mag described “Conformist” as a “hard-hitting anthem” with Hysteria Mag echoing that it was a “towering slab of alternative rock”. Wall Of Sound commended The Comfort on providing a “special” listening experience with “Supernova” before it made its way to the ears of thousands of listeners on both Kerrang! Radio in the UK and triple j. Amnplify caught The Comfort on the tail end of their September tour with Terra and reviewed that the new tracks: “really were a treat to hear live.”

The Comfort is Dominic Harper (vocals/bass), Liam Holmes (vocals/guitar), Marcus Parente (guitar) and Izaac Calrow (drums). The quartet first cemented their status in alternative music world with the wildly popular ‘Love’ EP which collected over 5 million Spotify streams worldwide before they pushed the boundaries of their creativity with their debut album ‘What It Is To Be’. The four-piece left listeners with the devastating single “Pain” before the pandemic sunk its teeth in, a brutally honest anthem exploring the depths of mental health.

The band have shared the stage with the likes of Thrice (USA), Circa Survive (USA), The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (USA), Don Broco (UK) and recently finished up their national tours alongside Waxflower in June and Terra in September.
