California’s radical sons, THE GROWLERS, are bringing their swirling, psychedelic glory back to Australia this summer. The Australian leg of Beach Goth tour will see the group perform their hypnotic, sun bleached, riff laden rock n’ roll across the country for what will be their biggest Oz tour to date. Tickets are selling fast. Grab em before they are gone via http://lovepolice.com.au/the-growlers-2019/.

The tour kicks off on the Gold Coast on Thursday January 10, before heading to Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. Joining them on the road for their carnival of madness are a selection of very special local supports for each state including BABE RAINBOW, THE CHATS and PIST IDIOTS with MORE local acts yet to be added.

2018 has seen THE GROWLERS, led by lead singer Brooks Nielsen, music director / lead guitarist Matt Taylor and keys / guitarist Kyle Straka release their self-produced, fuzz-laden, sixth studio album ‘Casual Acquaintances’. The album brings back the grit and DIY majesty of vintage Growlers. With its overdriven synths and tender, twisted lyrics, the lead single ‘Problems III’ bridges the gap between “Beach Goth” in its purest form and the dance floor punch that made City Club so compelling.

Consisting of demos, works-in-progress and other unfinished business from the band’s City Club sessions – and featuring cover art by internet phenoms Aleia Murawski and Sam Copeland – Casual Acquaintances defies expectation, delivering a fully-formed vision that stands alongside the band’s finest, fuzziest work. LP follows 2016’s City Club, produced by Julian Casablancas and features huge singles ‘I’ll Be Around’, ‘Night Ride’ and title track ‘City Club’.

The prolific party band who emerged in 2009 with their debut album Are You In Or Out? and have since evolved into a traveling circus, have spent the last five months taking the ‘Beach Goth’ tour across the globe, selling out an epic run of shows throughout the US, UK and Europe. The world tour kicked off in August with their own annual event Beach Goth Festival (now in its seventh year) held at Los Angeles State Historic Park and boasted a legendary line-up including The Voidz (with Julian Casablancas), The Drums, Hatchie, Jonathan Richman, GWAR, Doug E. Fresh, Youth of Today, Yellowman, Bushwick Bill, Starcrawler, Kirin J Callinan.

Now, it is time for Australian fans to see the return of THE GROWLERS for what is bound to be a series of unforgettable live shows. Catch all the dates and ticket details for their upcoming Aussie jaunt, below.
