| Debuting her new project under the moniker of Vetta Borne earlier this year, multi-talented singer-songwriter and producer Maribelle Añes, signs to Soul Modern, releasing her buoyant new single titled ‘Beyoncé’. Whilst the Vetta Borne project and the debut EP ‘Violeta’ both pay homage to Maribelle’s grandmother, the project also marks a new chapter for the bright young artist, by fully embracing the person she has become, which is reflected in her heartfelt and intentional lyricism. Sonically, Vetta Borne is an evolution of Maribelle’s artistry, now incorporating everything from songwriting, through to production and vocal engineering, all created out of her bedroom studio and allowing her artistic vision to truly come to life. With a plethora of music under her belt, the new single sets the tone for Vetta Borne’s sophomore EP ‘Emelia’ due for release early next year.
Inspired by the soul and R&B stylings she’s been drawn to from a young age, whilst referencing some world class 90s icons, Vetta Borne’s new single is a wonderful celebration of love and friendship, sharing “I wrote Beyoncé in the middle of the first stage 4 lockdown. I feel so grateful to have a group of life-long friends and wanted to express how thankful I am to have them in my life to support each other going through this all.”
A prolific songwriter, Maribelle has worked with an incredible range of Australian artists, with her striking vocals being an absolute standout on Carmada’s ‘On Fire’, Young Franco’s ‘Miss You’, ‘Girls Don’t Cry’, and ‘Angel’, whilst more recently working with Tentendo on ‘Thoughts’, and featuring on Ukiyo’s ‘Good Enough’. Further adding to her impressive resume, the Melbourne based artist has been winning over the hearts of fans with a string of originals under the artist name Maribelle, including ‘I’m A Mess Without You’, ‘Shout’, and ‘Who We Are’. Having recently produced George Alice’s triple j Unearthed winning single ‘Circles’, and Kira Puru’s single ‘Chillin’, Maribelle is proving to be one of the most exciting Australian artists on the rise.
