Boo Seeka has today shared his driving new single Next To Me ; an airy ode to seeking your bliss, out today, April 28. Another radiant addition to the glistening Boo Seeka repertoire, this new single also today accompanies the long-awaited confirmation of Boo’s second studio album Between The Head And The Heart set for release on Thursday June 30 and available to presave now.
Next To Me unfurls with ethereal vocals and emphatic synths, building into an alluring wonderland of sharp warmth, bubbling beats and dense soundscapes. Enveloping like a warm hug as the familiar stylings of Boo Seeka effortlessly glides throughout the track, Next To Me expands on the gloss wielded on the earlier 2022 single Finish What You Started, while also offering a silken ode guaranteed to entice a smile. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Jungle, Glass Animals, Coldplay and Empire Of The Sun, Boo harnessed his chi for Next To Me, as he explains, “For me, this one is a simple, poetic song that best describes that feeling of always trying to stay connected with what makes you happy. I am really happy to be releasing this one. It’s another chapter of this album, it’s definitely one of my favourites from the record.”
Following ongoing hurdles and rescheduling galore due to the continuing pandemic, Boo has relentlessly utilised this solo project for the greater good while also flexing and exploring his own creative universe. Teaming up with Matt Bartlem producing and mixing, Jay Bainbridge co-writing and Dale Becker mastering on Next To Me, the new track will firmly tantalise fans in the lead up to the official release of Between The Head And The Heart – and Boo’s overriding narrative of happiness paired with sentimental sonic palettes is exactly what the doctor ordered to brighten your day, as Boo elaborates, “Given the theme of the song is about being happy, I worked hard with Matt Bartlem, my master producer, to create a sound that we hope will make people listening smile in all the environments that they hear it. Whether that’s on driving along the coast on a summer’s day with the windows down, at a festival with your mates, or in a cafe getting yourself going for the day.”
Next To Me marks a significant turning point in this latest Boo Seeka chapter, both as one of Boo’s personal highlights as well as signposting the hotly anticipated announcement of the impending new album. Boo’s 2017 debut album Never Too Soon saw a top ten debut, coming in at #8 on the ARIA albums chart, with tracks recorded in carparks, on tour and in the studio as well. 2022’s follow up will mark Boo Seeka’s first album as a solo project – and Boo could not be more excited to declare the new album to the world, saying, “It’s been a long time coming but, I am so excited to announce that Boo Seeka’s second studio record, ‘Between The Head And The Heart’ will be released on Thursday, 30th June 2022!” And Boo’s on a roll ticking through his career dreams, currently in the States after playing Coachella with Hayden James and enjoying Triple J play with his feature on Hayden’s new single Free.
