DZ DEATHRAYS
RELEASE NEW TRACK/VIDEO
‘GOLDEN RETRIEVER’
+ ANNOUNCE SEP/OCT ALBUM TOUR
+ ALBUM OUT FRI 9 JULY

I OH YOU are excited to share DZ Deathrays’ new track ‘Golden Retriever’, along with announcing dates for their Positive Rising: Part 2 album tour this September/October.

The final track to drop ahead of the release of Positive Rising: Part 2 on Friday 9 July, ‘Golden Retriever’ is a nugget of hard rock gold with surprisingly sensitive undertones. ‘I’m such a dreamer / Golden Retriever / hopeless and needy / I really gotta work this out.’

‘Golden Retriever’ comes with the gorgeous video directed by Joe Agius (Hatchie/The Creases), featuring none other than the golden canines themselves.

“This film clip was definitely one of the most fun shoots we’ve done thanks to all the dogs who were there. I’m really going to miss having 6 super happy golden retrievers running around out the back of film clip shoots.” – Simon Ridley

Shane, Simon and Lachy are stoked to be taking Positive Rising: Part 2 on tour, with shows locked in for Perth, Margaret River, Hobart, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Canberra, Newcastle and Wollongong (+ more to be announced soon!) Supporting DZ at all shows is Brisbane rapper/singer/producer Nerve, who gained nationwide attention through hit singles ‘Where You Been’ featuring Sydney’s ChillinIt and ‘Sunday Roast’ featuring Tweed Heads rapper JK-47, which have collectively amassed close to 4 million streams on Spotify alone. DZ can’t wait to see the live energy Nerve brings to their already notoriously fiery shows.

‘Golden Retriever’ joins previous hits ‘Make Yourself Mad’, ‘Fear The Anchor (feat. Ecca Vandal)’, ‘All Or Nothing’ and ‘Fired Up’ from Positive Rising: Part 2. All tracks have been met with acclaim from fans and industry alike with adds to local and international rock playlisting on Spotify and Apple Music plus coverage from the likes of DIY Mag (UK), Upset Mag (UK), The Line Of Best Fit, Far Out Mag, Deadpress, Stereoboard, Blunt Mag, Rolling Stone AU, NME and triple j. ‘Fear The Anchor (feat. Ecca Vandal)’ was added to Amazing Radio (UK) and recently hit #16 on New Zealand’s national Rock Radio chart. ‘Fired Up’ and ‘All Or Nothing’ were added to rotation at triple j, both making it to the top 10 most played song on the station.
