Just in time to get pumped up for the duo’s EP launch at the Gasometer Hotel on the 29th of November Melbourne based groove guys House of Wood are dropping their much awaited debut EP Aricia, available on Spotify on the 21st of November.

The founding duo, Lewis Toms and Woody Samson with the recent addition of Tejo D’ Cruz describe Aricia as, “exploring the themes of isolation, anxiety, freedom and heartbreak, all whilst making you wanna dance a little; we love to make music that feeds emotional responses from the feet up”. The EP takes you through a journey from poppy drum beats and funky guitar riffs to trumpet solos leaving nothing left to do but to dance the night away. The sound inspires having a good time, having the freedom to be creative and cheering on for that breakdown solo mash of drums, guitar and trumpet.

House of Wood have kept busy this year supporting the likes of Angus and Julia Stone and touring Tasmania with Hugo Bladel which hasn’t stopped them from putting everything into making a unique sound for this EP. Not defining themselves as one particular genre, they are described as a dance, electronic, indie, pop, rock, roots band on their Unearthed profile, Aricia offers unique sounds and innovative lyrics that makes it impossible to stay within the constraints of one type of sound, holding something for everyone’s taste.
Performing for the first time as a six piece, the 29th of November at the Gasometer will be just a start of what is to come for House of Wood.
