Genesis Oswasu
The Forum, Melbourne.
The lights go down and a thundering introduction begins, hailing the arrival of Genesis Oswasu, the crowd absolutely losing their minds. It’s straight down to business, the Ghanian musician erupting onto the stage.
The atmosphere is absolutely electric, opening with ” Pirate Electric” he quickly moves onto ” Stampede” before getting a little sexy for ” Hellstar”, he glides around the stage. Dressed stylishly in a long skirt with African print and military styled jacket he oozes cool and edginess. An enigmatic performer, he has the entire room jumping so much the floor shakes.
Beginning 4LIFE he makes his way into the crowd, and asks people to ” Get down if your knees will allow” and the entire room crouches as he stands in the middle of the theater. It’s a magical moment, the audience collectively holding their breaths. Mid song, he asks everyone to turn on their phone torches and it’s a magical moment. The Forum has never looked so beautiful and the sea of lights is breathtaking.
Oswasu always puts on a spectacular show, he upped his game this time around, delivering a memorable performance for Melbourne audiences yet again.
