SUNK LOTO
Australian Tour Kicks off Friday
Announces New Management Deal with Welkin Entertainment

Friday August 07

Gold Coast metal icons Sunk Loto return to the stage this Friday, playing their first shows since 2023 and armed with their latest single Dead Shadows.

Instrumental in shaping Australia’s heavier end of the alternative scene in the early 2000’s,
Sunk Loto were mentioned in the same breath as Sevendust, Korn and Deftones.

After a 15 year hiatus, they came roaring back in 2022 and picked up exactly where they left off, whipping the old guard, and a tonne of new fans into a frenzy via two sold out national tours.

With plenty left to say, they showed it with their first new music in twenty years, The Gallows Wait and Dead Shadows, both less than subtle reminders that none of the ferocity had been diluted.

Of the upcoming tour the band comment; “We’re going to be playing a spread of old and new, songs we haven’t played live in years, our new stuff and more. We can’t wait, see you there!”

Sunk Loto are also proud to announce they have signed a management deal with
Welkin Entertainment Management

Founded in 2007, by Ne Obliviscaris co-founder, vocalist and violinist, Tim Charles, Melbourne based, Welkin Entertainment, has a long and diverse history within the Australian heavy music scene, originally starting with event management, including festivals such as Progfest & Sonic Forge and a booking agency before expanding to management and a label.

Moving forward Welkin is consolidating its focus on artist development and a select management roster of world class heavy artists from Australia and abroad.

Charles brings to Welkin Entertainment a unique artist-led perspective, built not only through his work with Ne Obliviscaris, and experience as a booking agent, label manager, festival promoter & more, but also through a proven history of innovative, independent career-building. This includes orchestrating a world tour crowdfunding campaign that broke Australian records in 2014, and then in 2016 enabling Ne Obliviscaris to become the first band in the world to successfully launch (via Patreon) a monthly subscription service to fund their ongoing music career. A pioneering model for direct fan support that has since become common place across the industry.

That combination of creative ambition, international experience and entrepreneurial thinking now sits at the heart of Welkin Entertainment’s management approach.

The current Welkin Entertainment management roster features four artists: NE OBLIVISCARIS, one of Australia’s most internationally recognised progressive extreme metal bands; much-hyped emerging progressive deathcore outfit IRONSTONE; Swedish progressive death metal masters AN ABSTRACT ILLUSION and now announcing their latest signing, Australian heavy music heavyweights SUNK LOTO.

Tim Charles speaking on the new partnership with Sunk Loto: “I’m incredibly excited to be able to welcome Sunk Loto to the Welkin Entertainment management roster. One of Australia’s most distinctive and influential heavy music bands, it’s a genuine privilege to now be working alongside them as they begin this exciting new chapter.

Their return in recent years has generated incredible momentum, with sold out shows continuing to stack up across Australia, and with each new song that is released, Sunk Loto show that their best era is just on the horizon.”
