Harts
November 01
Corner Hotel
The room was a buzz with excitement with people cheering Harts on as a red curtain lifted to reveal Harts, his signature guitar in hand. As soon as he opened with the first few bars, the audience came alive with cheers and excitement.
Harts is one of those performers that is dynamic to watch. Taking his time to ease into the set and dust off the cobwebs, by the fourth song the Harts we all know and love was back- and what a sensational return to the stage it was for fans.
Playing Red & Blue fairly on int the set list, his casual approach yet precision performance reminds the audience why he is such a beloved musician. We are treated with expert guitar playing, but it’s his ability to simply lose himself in the music that is truly captivating. The moments when Harts gets so lost in playing that he’s either laying on the floor or he’s in the crowd are what make his performances so dynamic to watch.
It turns out that he also has a great sense of humor, as he jokes about being mistaken for an Uber driver on dinner runs, and pokes fun of himself with ease, making the audience laugh.
He moves through the set list, playing ‘ All You’re Dreaming Of”, ” Rocking With You” with an extended intro and ” Flower in Stone”. At one point he steps onto the barrier to hand out guitar picks, the audience putting their hands out for one, a memento of a fantastic night.
With an artist as talented as Harts, there is enormous pressure at times for perfection, and hopefully it wasn’t this pressure that saw him step away from the music industry- because he really is a sensational player, and he has given his adoring fans a show to delight their senses and remind us all why he so clearly belongs on stage.
Harts made a triumphant return to the stage, his audience loving every single moment – he’s clearly at home performing. Hopefully we see a more permanent return to the stage soon.
