Opening for Behemoth, Polish black metaler Nighogg absolutely owns the stage, almost trance- like in his performance. The audience aren’t sure at first, but by the second song the room is won over. He prowls up and down, captivating the room. This isn’t just a performance, it’s a ritual and we are witness to the sermon he is delivering. It’s pure unbridled energy and it’s one of the most memorable opening acts for a while.
As the lights go down, Nergal steps out and the audience begins to cheer in anticipation. What ensues isn’t just a performance, it’s a theatrical experience- lights, atmosphere and smoke bringing together an immersive experience for the fans.
