Cut Copy returns to their hometown with a sold-out show that celebrates their enduring impact and is a real treat for longtime fans.
“We’re so glad to be back in our favourite city in the world and in our favourite venue in the world. We love coming here to see shows and we love playing shows here,” exclaims frontman Dan Whitford.
Tonight’s support acts were handpicked by Cut Copy and including emerging talent artist Wrong Way Up and Milo Eastwood, the dancefloor fills up quickly and the energy in the room is electric.
From the moment Cut Copy steps out onto the stage, the room comes alive. Opening with the intro ‘Visions’ that leads into ‘Nobody Lost, Nobody Found’ and ‘Far Away’ from their cult classic album ‘In Ghost Colours’, it sets the tone for the night with their signature electronic, synth-pop and rock music style full of pulsing basslines backed by Whitford’s unmistakable vocals.
Cut Copy’s live sound is lush, layered, and immersive. They blend analog synths, crisp drum machines, and live instrumentation to create a rich, textured wall of sound. Their shimmering soundscape swells with emotion and energy, often building to euphoric climaxes that get the whole crowd moving.
The show is also visually stunning with a kaleidoscope of neon lights, strobes, and projections that sync perfectly with the 80s synthwave and retro-futuristic vibe.
Cut Copy delivers a memorable set that’s well paced to keep the energy flowing, with moments of introspection followed by explosive dance breaks.
Their impressive brand-new album ‘Moments’ just dropped last week and they’re excited to share some fresh material with fans in a live setting tonight including tracks ‘Solid’, ‘When This Is Over’ and ‘Belong To You.’
For all the die-hard fans, deeper cuts like ‘Future’ and ‘Out There on the Ice’ are nostalgic moments that get the crowd fired up with immediate movement on the dancefloor. Crowd favourite ‘Hearts On Fire’ serves as the final track before they leave the stage.
An encore of ‘Need You Now’ and ‘Lights & Music’ sends the dancefloor into a frenzy, turning the Forum into a sea of movement and joy. With a legacy spanning more than 24 years, Cut Copy are still going strong and are one of the most respected and beloved bands in the electronic indie/dance music scene.
