In a world that constantly urges us to do more, we often lose touch with the quieter, more sacred parts of ourselves. “Snow Flower” invites you to slow down, turn inward, to pause amidst the rush and rediscover the stillness that lies within. Let this album be a gentle guide to inner peace, reflection, and simplicity.
Recorded at Rainbow Valley Studios on Bundjalung country, “Snow Flower” is not just an album but a meditative odyssey. Produced by Corbyand Henriksson, the album infuses the healing frequency of 432Hz, known for its calming effects and ability to lower heart rate, into its tracks, providing a sanctuary of sound amidst the bustle of modern life. |

The album, inspired by the transient beauty of snowflakes in Tibet—referred to as ‘Khaway Metok’ (snow flowers)—explores themes of impermanence and the beauty of life through its minimalistic yet profound lyrics. Tenzin Choegyal draws upon his Tibetan nomadic roots, blending traditional Tibetan instruments like the dranyen (Tibetan lute) with modern musical elements, creating a meditative soundscape that resonates with universal themes of peace and introspection.
The title track Snow Flower, and subsequent releases such as Mountain and the focus single Passage exemplifies the album’s rich narrative and auditory diversity.
Based on three continuous rounds of multi-syllable, multi-timbre mantras, each begun by Choegyal at different breathing points, Passage serves as a time-travelling song of trance-like splendour aimed at calming the mind and resetting the soul. Enhanced by Matt Corby’s synth drone and Rohin Jones’s innovative electric guitar played with a violin bow, the track’s otherworldly ambience is a profound meditation on the preciousness of human life and our potential for positive transformation. |
