The 90s saw the rise of trip- hop and one band that has lasted the distance is Morcheeba. Back in Australia to showcase 2021 album Blackest Blue and a range of hits.

Skye Edwards slides out onto the stage, wearing impossibly high shoes and a gorgeous top hat. Her honeyed voice fills the theater,  opening with Trigger Hippie, instantly mesmerizing the crowd.  Her voice captivates as she glides around the space, engaging and entertaining.

Playing a variety of tracks, from the popular The Sea  to Easy Way, and Part Of The Process, Edwards only stops a few times to engage the crowd. Stopping to take off her shoes, she sits down and casually tells the crowd she can’t balance anymore, so the shoes have to go before launching into Jam.

Deciding to peak early, they don’t save the popular hit Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day until last, instead sandwiching it in between a cover of Dawn Penn’s  You Don’t Love Me (No, No, No) and Never Undo. 

Skye Edwards is one of those performers that has a voice that you could easily listen to all night and never tire of it’s beauty. She delights in bringing people together to share the experience of being in a room, forgetting the world outside to step into hers. Before the evening ends, she entices the audience to dance along to a cover of David Bowie’s  Let’s Dance– and it’s a perfect way to end what has been an incredible evening of sensuous music.

The Australian Book of Records today announces the full performer lineup for We Are The Voice, an unforgettable world record singalong event celebrating the music of John Farnham, set to take place at Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Friday 13 March 2026.

Thousands of Farnham fans are expected to gather under the Melbourne skyline as the audience becomes the headline act, forming a colossal choir in an official attempt to set a world record for the largest singalong to John Farnham songs alongside some iconic guest vocalists, all while raising vital funds and awareness for Head and Neck Cancer Australia.

Leading the charge as Musical Director is the incomparable Chong Lim, performing alongside the legendary Farnham Band, who will reunite for this special occasion. Together, they will anchor a powerful night of music featuring some of Australia’s most dynamic performers.

Beloved entertainer Em Rusciano will host the evening, bringing her trademark wit, powerhouse vocals and unmistakable energy to the Bowl. Acclaimed choir master Jonathon Welch AM will prepare and conduct the audience as the ultimate mass choir, guiding thousands of voices through iconic anthems including You’re The Voice and other Farnham classics.

Adding to the spectacle, ARIA Hall of Fame inductee Jack Jones, rising country star Taylor Moss, dynamic vocalists Crackup Sister Iffy (Nerida Matthaei) and Rachel Bostock, and renowned hypnotist entertainer Mark Anthony will each bring their unique flair to what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. And to up the ante even further, Mark Anthony will be attempting a world record for hypnotising the most people at one time on stage at the Bowl!

“Chong has done a wonderful job producing this show,” beams Farnham. “From one of my favourite singers, Jack Jones to the touching voices that make up the Choir of Hard Knocks…I hope you all have a great night!”

Performing together for the first time since Fire Fight Australia in 2020, the Farnham Band are thrilled to reunite in honour of John and for a cause close to his heart. “This will be a powerful night of music, unity and celebration,” says Musical Director Chong Lim. “To stand on stage with the Farnham Band again and hear thousands of Australians singing these songs together will be something truly special.”

John Farnham, whose personal battle with oral cancer has helped shine a national spotlight on Head and Neck Cancer awareness, has expressed his gratitude for the event and its purpose.

“John Farnham has become an unexpected but incredibly powerful voice for Head and Neck Cancer awareness. “billy no mates is probably the heaviest song to come out of this project to date, both sonically and in subject matter. It’s a bit of a character study, looking back at myself when I first moved out of home, the instability that came with that and the unhealthy coping mechanisms that came about as a result. It’s sort of a conversation with my younger self, really what I wish someone could have told me back then when I was deep in it y’know? It’s probably the most vulnerable song I’ve ever written and releasing it scares the ever loving shit out of me. The project is intended to be a vessel forintrospection and personal growth, tackling issues close to home, and promoting self-acceptance.

Victor Wooten and The Wooten Brothers put on an amazing show at the Northcote Theatre last night. Jaron Jay started things off with an incredible set, and the energy really picked up when Victor and his brothers Regi (Guitar), Roy (Drums) , and Joseph (Keyboard) hit the stage. They played a great mix of funk, jazz, and R&B, showing just how well they work together as a family. It was a fun, high-energy night that the Melbourne crowd really enjoyed.

Australia Now Stands to Face the Band’s Full, Unrestrained Wrath

On the eve of their Chant of the Eastern Lands Australian Tour, the Governor of Istanbul has cancelled Behemoth’s concert there in an effort to save Turkish youth from “exposure to Satanic Filth”.

Gül addressed the cancelations on social media today, stating: “No activity that corrupts society in Istanbul has ever been permitted up to this day, and it will not be permitted in the future either.”

Thankfully, here in Australia we are all on board with “Satanic Filth” and the band will deliver their biggest shows yet when they arrive in the country next week. Australian fans can now expect an ultra fired-up Behemoth to attack their shows with Unrestrained Wrath and Hellfire!

22 year-old Sydney singer/songwriter Milina Mihic debuts a new era with the release of Overpass, a heartbreaking, emotional alt-pop track that delves into mental health and learning to care for yourself.

Channelling the likes of Phoebe Bridgers and Ethel Cain on Overpass, Milina brings a crunchy, edgy approach, making her take on the type of alt-pop sound uniquely her own. Written in collaboration with producer and label A&R Blake Wares, she has retired her rockier alias MILINA, under which she released singles “Do you know me now?” and “Anyday”. These tracks saw her spotlighted as an artist to watch by triple j unearthed in 2024, with her most recent single released in August 2024.

Vulnerable, honest and moody, Overpass is awash with moody baritone guitars, slide guitar, and plunky pianos. Milina’s hauntingly beautiful voice grows in power as the song goes on, anchoring the track, and bringing depth and emotion well beyond her years. Lyrically, Milina delves deep into the complexity of mental health and how she’s tried to help others going through a crisis, whilst also making sure that she looks after herself. In that way, Overpass became an outlet for her to recount and process those experiences, and how they’ve helped shape her. 

“I wrote this song about how complex dealing with others’ mental illness can be, while also attempting to care for yourself in the process”, Milina said. “There have been a few times in my life where I’ve had to accept my limits, because there’s a point where you can do more harm than good. I feel like this song lives in between the moment you choose to help, and the moment you choose to stop.”

Hailing from Western Sydney, Milina Mihic started singing when she was 6 years old – and has been infatuated with music ever since. “It was the only thing that could keep me calm, hype me up, or make me focus. I remember listening to a few big artists at a young age and telling my mum that I wanted to do what they did”. After finishing high school, she auditioned for The Voice in 2021, and watched as all of the judges’ chairs turned for her performance of Freya Riding’s Castles. After being eliminated, she went back to studying, before debuting her MILINA project in 2024 with “Do you know me now?”, “Anyday” and “All At Once”. 

Throughout 2025, she took the time to reassess her direction, rebrand as Milina Mihic – her full name – and worked with Blake Wares and Real Life Records to finalise new music that will roll out in 2026. With a voice beyond her years, Milina Mihic delves into her thoughts and feelings around coming-of-age and her teenage experiences. “I was listening to a lot of Fiona Apple, Jeff Buckley, Phoebe Bridgers and Nothing but Thieves when I was writing this song. I feel like those artists have always inspired me so there will always be a piece of them in my music” Milina said about her influences. “Winter by Tori Amos was also playing a lot when I wrote Overpass, and I feel like the melancholy in that song is something I wanted to replicate in Overpass.” 

On her re-brand and shift in direction, Milina noted that “Milina Mihic is the person that I want to be. I’m more vulnerable, and sometimes too honest, but I lay everything out on the table – including my flaws. The world this music lives in is fragmented, confusing, and dreamlike, like it’s planted in a memory you can’t quite decipher.”

Speaking specifically about Overpass, Milina said; “It feels amazing to (finally) be releasing it! I took a bit of time between releases to really hone in on this single and the next few songs I wrote. I’ve been trying to make my music feel as ‘me’ as possible, and I’m extremely proud of how it’s all turned out”.

Aussie rock festival Wanstock returns in 2026 with its biggest lineup yet, announcing Sydney and Melbourne events, with the rock gods set to descend on Shoppingtown Hotel in Doncaster (Melb) for two nights on Friday 20 March and Saturday 21 March, and Selina’s (Syd) on Friday 20 March. US icons The Romantics will grace the Shoppingtown Hotel stage alongside New Zealand icons Dragon, Aussie heroes 1927, Pseudo Echo, Bachelor Girl, Taxiride featuring Jason Singh and more in Melbourne, and Sydney will see The Romantics, Choirboys, Taxiride featuring Jason Singh and Ventura bringing the rock to the eastern beaches of Sydney.

Born from organiser Geoff Wansbrough’s love of the legendary Aussie pub rock era in the 80s and 90s, Wanstock has evolved since 2018 into an annual showcase of world-class acts alongside talented up-and-comers and the 2026 edition is no exception when it comes to homegrown and international artists from the rock realms. Headlining Wanstock on Saturday will be none other than influential USA rockers, THE ROMANTICS, bringing nearly five decades of iconic hits to the stage. Fans can expect electrifying performances of MTV-era classics like ‘What I Like About You’, ‘Talking In Your Sleep’ and ‘One In A Million’, alongside favourites such as ‘Rock You Up’ and ‘When I Look In Your Eyes’. The Romantics – Wally Palmar, Coz Canler, Bruce Witkin, Joey Malone, and Mike Rizzi continue their global 2025–2026 tour with an unforgettable Wanstock appearance.

Headlining Friday’s stage will be 1927, formed in 1987, the band made a devastating entry into the ears of its listeners with the release of their debut album …iSH in 1988. Three months after the release, 1927 was catapulted to meteoric fame, with …iSH going on become the highest selling debut album release by an Australian artist. The quintuple Platinum selling album contained a staggering six charted singles, and for 46 weeks, …iSH remained in the TOP 50 of the Australian Music Charts. 1927 again found enormous success with the release of their multi-Platinum second album The Otherside.  The band’s second album unleashed yet more charted singles, and for an astounding 19 weeks The Othersideremained in the TOP 50 of the Australian Music Charts. With 7x Platinum Records from multiple albums, a third self-titled album, which also charted, and their best work to date…the most recent studio album ‘Generation-i’, 1927 has firmly established their status as an iconic Australian band.

Returning to the Wanstock stage, Dragon formed in New Zealand in the 1970s before relocating to Australia, the long-time rock purveyors have never been ones to play it safe throughout their colourful and ongoing creative journey. Leaning into a heavy progressive rock sound that garnered a cult-like following and early success, the group have remained a stalwart fixture in the rock world, with hit tracks Are You Old Enough, April Sun in Cuba and Rain solidifying Dragon’s staying power and widespread appeal.

“We are so excited to be part of Wanstock once again, it’s been too long,” says Dragon. It’s always a pleasure to have a spot on such a great line-up with so much Australian talent, and the iconic Romantics from the US!”

An event run by a music lover and for music lovers, the spark for Wanstock festival first ignited when organiser Geoff Wansbrough approached some of his favourite bands to play for his birthday a few years back. Spurred by his love of classic Australian rock and the spirit of the original Woodstock Music Festival, Wanstock was soon born, holding its inaugural event in 2018 at the Burvale Hotel before growing into the event’s current home, the Shoppingtown Hotel, in 2019. And, as Geoff Wansbrough explains, each year is designed to be bigger and better than ever before, with 2026 set to simultaneously offer two nights of amazing acts as well as the chance to catch The Romantics, “I grew up in that awesome Aussie pub rock era of the 1980s and 90s. Every pub had bands and the cream rose to the top and we gave the world some great acts. As such, I used to see a lot of bands back in the day, and I still do. Wanstock came about when I was having a birthday a few years ago. I thought I would have a favourite band play. Then I thought: why not have a few of my favorite bands. That, plus the fact that I was a big admirer of the original Woodstock Music Festival, is really how it came about. Each year, I try and make it bigger and better. Now, it consists of a few components: to have two or three of the classic acts from back in the day, to give a some of the emerging talent a chance to play, and to have a cover band playing all our favorites to get everyone partying and dancing. Basically, I put it on to support our local music talent and so we can have a bit of fun while we still can. I really look forward to putting on Wanstock each year. It gives us all a chance to forget about our worries and enjoy some of that great music of our youth. For this next event, I am particularly proud to be bringing The Romantics to Australian shores. The line up for both nights is stacked with talent, including hall of famers 1927, Dragon and Pseudo Echo – it is bound to have you rocking out all night!”
