Mike Skinner’s project The Streets (UK) announce 2026 tour dates

Performing A Grand Don’t Come for Free in full

Boisterous British icon Mike Skinner is bringingThe Streets to Australian shores in 2026 performing the landmark 2004 album A Grand Don’t Come For Free for the first time in full. The charismatic hypeman and storyteller will bring the multi-platinum, era-defining album to Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth in March 2026.

Originally released in 2004, A Grand Don’t Come For Free remains one of the most important and influential British albums of the 21st century. Entering the UK charts at No.1, the record went multi-platinum and delivered era-defining singles including “Dry Your Eyes”, “Fit But You Know It”, and “Blinded By The Lights”. It cemented Skinner as one of the UK’s most original and vital voices, capturing the humour, heartbreak and raw emotion of everyday life with rare poetic clarity.

Heading to some of the nation’s finest venues, the tour will start in Adelaide at Hindley Street Music Hall, then to the Sydney Opera House Forecourt, on to Melbourne’s Palace Foreshore with the final stop at Fremantle Arts Centre in WA. The Brisbane venue will be announced in the coming weeks.

Breaking through in 2002 with Mercury Prize nominated Original Pirate Material, bringing us tracks like “Has It Come To This?”, The Streets’ impact on UK culture and music can still be felt to this day.

Multiple albums later, and a hiatus in 2011, The Streets’ comeback tour in 2017 sold out in less than a minute, a testament to their lasting impact across generations of music lovers. Their 2023 album The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light marked Mike Skinner’s return with a full-length project that melds his signature spoken-word lyricism with cinematic storytelling.

An inimitable live performer with bountiful experience both behind the decks and on the microphone, Mike Skinner has collaborated with a who’s who of British music – from IDLES to Fred Again, as well as Australia’s beloved Tame Impala.  Skinner is renowned for his undeniable onstage presence, quintessentially British tongue-in-cheek attitude and ability to grip audiences from crowded basements to Glastonbury headline slots.

This tour marks the first time The Streets will perform A Grand Don’t Come For Free in its entirety, giving fans a chance to experience the full story exactly as it was intended: a cinematic journey through love, loss, chaos, heartbreak and hope, delivered with Skinner’s trademark raw honesty and wit.

THE LAST DINNER PARTY
ANNOUNCES SPECIAL GUEST SIR CHLOE
NEW ALBUM “FROM THE PYRE” DROPS TOMORROW

NEW SINGLE “SECOND BEST” OUT NOW
TICKETS ON SALE NOW

Following a year of sold-out shows around the globe, The Last Dinner Party are returning to Australia in January 2026, with special guest Sir Chloe joining the tour for shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth.

The announcement lands alongside the London five-piece’s latest single, “Second Best”, lifted from their highly anticipated second album, From The Pyre, which drops tomorrow 17th October 2025.

The Last Dinner Party – Second Best (Official Lyric Video)

Sir Chloe |
Sir Chloe is the moniker of musician and artist Dana Foote, known for blending grungy guitar hooks, sharp pop instincts, and a distinctive, emotionally raw vocal style, channeling artists like PJ Harvey, David Byrne, and Radiohead. Her stage presence has been compared to the likes of a “disheveled businessman after a long day,” and a “drunk uncle.” Her debut EP Party Favors (2020) is taut and emotionally charged, sitting between mainstream ambition and experimental edge and has amassed nearly a billion streams and multiple gold records.

The Last Dinner Party headed into the studio early 2025 with Grammy Award winning producer Markus Dravs (Wolf Alice, Florence & The Machine, Bjork) to start work on the follow-up to their number 1 debut album, 2023’s Prelude to Ecstasy. From The Pyre is the sound of a band having a lot of fun rather than feeling any innate pressure to follow-up on what was an explosively successful debut record. It’s also the sound of a young band developing and maturing their songwriting together, as tight a unit as the endless months out on the road pay testament to.

Speaking about the LP, the band said: “This record is a collection of stories, and the concept of album-as-mythos binds them. ‘The Pyre’ itself is an allegorical place in which these tales originate, a place of violence and destruction but also regeneration, passion and light.

“The songs are character driven but still deeply personal, a commonplace life event pushed to pathological extreme. Being ghosted becomes a Western dance with a killer, and heartbreak laughs into the face of the apocalypse. Lyrics invoke rifles, scythes, sailors, saints, cowboys, floods, Mother Earth, Joan of Arc, and blazing infernos. We found this kind of evocative imagery to be the most honest and truthful way to discuss the way our experiences felt, giving each the emotional weight it deserves.”

“This record feels a little darker, more raw and more earthy; it takes place looking out at a sublime landscape rather than seated an opulent table. It also feels metatextual and cheeky in places, like a knowing look reflected back at ourselves.”

With two BRIT Awards to their name (including Breakthrough Artist earlier this year), and having sold out virtually every show they played right across the globe (including three sold-out hometown shows at London’s Eventim Apollo), The Last Dinner Party’s arrival and subsequent worldwide success was one of the most thrilling introductions to a new British band in decades, and From The Pyre’s opening introduction suggests that unparalleled success story shows no signs of relenting.

News: GARBAGE announce headline theatre shows in AUCKLAND, MELBOURNE, ADELAIDE, AND SYDNEY – DECEMBER 2025

GARBAGE ANNOUNCE HEADLINE THEATRE SHOWS IN AUCKLAND, MELBOURNE, ADELAIDE, AND SYDNEY – DECEMBER 2025

Tickets on sale Wednesday 22 October

Frontier Touring are thrilled to announce the long-awaited return of the alt rock icons Garbage to Australia and New Zealand this December, with four electrifying shows for Auckland, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. Standing among the most influential alternative rock bands of modern times, the band – Shirley Manson, Duke Erikson, Steve Market & Butch Vig – are true pioneers, selling over 20 million albums and responsible for a catalogue of era-defining hits. These summer shows will be Garbage’s first Australian headline performances since 2016, and the band’s first appearance in Auckland since 2013.

‘To be able to return to sacred, stunning New Zealand and to Australia the home country of our most beloved music business guru, Michael Gudinski is an immense thrill for us as a band. We have been aching to return to this part of the world for a long time now and this tour will be played every night in Gudinski’s honour’ – Shirley Manson

Performing in ornate theatres in each city, including a tour closing night onstage in the Concert Hall at the iconic Sydney Opera House, these shows are a must for long-time Garbage fans. Garbage return in celebration of their highly acclaimed eighth studio album, Let All That We Imagine Be The Light. Since its release in May 2025, the band have been hitting the road, currently midway through their first North American headline tour in a decade, which began in early September. In November, they’ll head to Mexico before closing out their US run with a final Los Angeles show, ahead of their long-awaited return to Australia and New Zealand.

Onstage, the fearless outfit are hungrier than ever, earning rave reviews from critics at recent shows:

‘Garbage has never been a band to play it safe … Nearly three decades later, the band still commands a room with the same swagger that made Version 2.0 a global phenomenon’ – Miami New Times

‘The stage backdrop of gothic statues lit up in neon pink and UV lights serves as a perfect analogy for the band’s live sound: still slick and candy-coloured like their records, but with a surprisingly heavy industrial sensibility’ – ★★★★ The Guardian

Formed in Madison, Wisconsin, Garbage released their self-titled debut back in 1995 – an album that shot to #1 on the NZ Album Chart, #4 in Australia, and went 2x Platinum in both countries. What followed was three decades of era-defining records and chart-topping singles, including ‘Only Happy When It Rains’, ‘Stupid Girl’, ‘When I Grow Up’, ‘No Gods No Masters’, ‘I Think I’m Paranoid’, ‘Vow’ and countless more. Now, the band continue to evolve, as heard on latest single ‘There’s No Future In Optimism’.

This record is about what it means to be alive, and about what it means to face your imminent destruction,” says Manson of their latest opus. “It’s hopeful. It’s very tender towards what it means to be a human being. Our flaws and our failures are still beautiful, even though we’re taught that they’re not… This is a tender, thrilling record about the fragility of life.”

Tickets to all shows go on sale Wednesday 22 October (1pm local time) via frontiertouring.com/garbage. Frontier Members presale starts Tuesday 21 October (10am local time) – see website for more information.

Do not miss these special shows: a joyous, electrifying celebration of the band that defined a generation.

Interview: Gorotica

Australian deathgrind act Gorotica shambled out from the dead blackened underbrush of Sydney’s backwoods. A repulsive, perverted and cannibalistic troupe of questionable French origins.

Living as a reclusive hive for the past three years, the troglodytic trio have been honing their rusted blades and musical skills to now emerge under the Gorotica moniker and bring forth to the public their mission of death and cannibalism in auditory form.

Fronted by band leader and vocalist Jon Von Cannibale, he is joined by Gaspard La Verge who brings his expertise in electric stringed instruments and distorted depravity, with Raymonde Peste rounding out the group with percussive pestilence.

Together this threesome presents a gorging platter of modern death metal and grindcore, with smatterings of hardcore and other sonic anomalies grinded in to the mortar and pestle mixing bowl.

We caught up with them to discuss the new album and writing process.

1. “Daily Grind of the Medieval Age” is such a vivid title. What was the spark that inspired the medieval / cannibalistic concept, and did that vision shift over the writing process?

The concept started and was explored on our first record, but not in such an expansive or unifying way as we have done it this time around for the new album. Grindcore is usually such a political genre and steeped in modern themes, so we thought it might bring something different to the style even though medieval themes have obviously been done to death throughout other extreme metal genres. The album title and song names were all planned out before the writing even began, so the vision was set in place and I worked to keep that as a common theme running throughout the lyrics.

2. Your lyrics weave together grotesque imagery (torture, necrophilia, executioners) with dark humour. How do you balance horror and satire / levity in your storytelling?

It seems to just come naturally, if I can put in something that’s going to make people (or myself) laugh or something absurd I am all for it,  and another aspect of the band is that it is supposed to be fun and ridiculous as well as being ultra heavy, so knowing how to find the perfect blend of both as to not stray into parody can be a fine line but I think we have it figured out. I think this new album leaned more into the humour than even the first album also.

3. The press release refers to “clock-watching executioners” — a strange, almost anachronistic detail. What draws you to insert modern touches into medieval settings?

So that is in reference to the track “Hung, Drawn and…Quarter to Eleven” which describes an executioner working the gallows in a fictional medieval town square, and he’s just anxiously watching the town square clock waiting for his morning break to start, and starts getting exasperated when he sees another man sent forward to be hung. From what research I put in apparently there were clock towers in medieval times dating back to the 12th century. Throughout the lyrics I put in care to make sure all of the stories and scenarios could exist within the Middle Ages timeframe.

4. You’re building on the foundation of Morbid Menagerie. Are there specific narrative threads or characters you carried forward into this new album or has this been a completely new concept?

Great question, there are a few little concepts and nods to the first record, but mainly just expanding on the medieval theme that we only touched on with Morbid. The final song on Morbid and the intro track to Daily Grind share the same motif, which I thought would be a cool little detail if anybody listened from Morbid straight into the new record, to hear it done in a different kind of way. Several songs from both albums are kind of linked as well, sort of by the type of story they tell, usually the ones dealing with obscene characters, for example “The Necrophile” and “Mangled in the Livery” both contain a dark protagonist, and I hope to keep that theme running for any future releases.

6. The new record mixes death metal, hyperblasting grindcore, but also nods to hardcore and groove. Which song(s) were most challenging to fuse genres, and why?

These are just how the songs come together naturally, and all the different influences and styles that come out are just a byproduct of my own musical taste and influences shining through in the writing, so I wouldn’t call it a challenge as such when it comes to the fusion, sometimes in the structures of the songs some challenges can arise and there was a couple of tracks that were reworked over the recording process, some parts added and also cut from certain tracks too.

7. “Sage, Clove and Powdered Bone” leans into a mid-paced, old school death style rather than full-on blast. What motivated you to slow down the pace on that one?

Sometimes Raymonde gets sick of gravity blasting every single song, and you’ve always got to have a nice ballad in there as well.

8. Did any riffs or ideas survive from the Morbid Menagerie era but only find their place on this new album?

Just the title track actually, the main riff and chorus were written around the Morbid era, but we actually have two of the shorter tracks on Daily Grind that were written even before Morbid, so you’re getting a little mix of stuff across 6 or 7 years here. Mostly everything is new though.

9. You self-produce (or at least stay in-house) — how do you handle maintaining raw intensity without sacrificing clarity in the mix?

Gaspard and Raymonde are the technical guys when it comes to the recording side, they record and then produce the tracks themselves, I just hand in the compositions and let them add their twist to the music as they see fit (with some supervision). You can’t really go wrong with the modern DAW and plugins now but the boys seem to know what they’re doing to get the best out of it, the mix turned out great on this record. This also gives us a bit more of a budget for other aspects like video clips and merchandise so it’s really a great thing to have.

11. How do the roles split in the creative process now (Jon Von Cannibale, Gaspard La Verge, Raymonde Peste)? Has that changed since your debut?

As touched on in the last question, I (JVC) am the chief songwriter, so I’ll try and finish off a full album worth of songs, written in MIDI piano roll mind you, and then send them off to Gaspard who learns and records them, leaving Raymonde to add his final production bits at the end. Gaspard though has contributed with a song and riff here and there, but he also changes my original riffs sometimes to something he’s hearing which works better for him to physically play on guitar, and these changes always end up being more dynamic and interesting. Because I’m supplying him with very basic MIDI notes, he has the option on how to play each part too, so there’s still quite a lot of creative input from his end in the performance aspect of the recording.

12. You operate independently / unsigned — what are the advantages and challenges of staying DIY in your scene right now?

I guess the advantage would be that we have no timetable to adhere to and nobody above us to answer to, so we’re pretty much free to release whatever and whenever we want, diaries permitting. A downside though would be a restriction on exposure and merchandising, it can be hard to stand out and really push through in the sea of music, even though we’ve worked with a great supportive publicist and had some wonderful feedback from fans and publications alike, I imagine a label would push you out just that bit farther into the eye of the scene. But ultimately this is a project we do for fun and the love of the music and making albums, so we are extremely happy with where we are at in our current position.

13. What’s one concept, image, or lyric from this album you hope listeners absolutely won’t forget, the one that haunts you… or you want to haunt others?

The closing lyrics from “Nothing Left to Penetrate”, I’ll leave that for readers to discover.

14. Are there any last points or things you like to mention, do you have a message for the fans?

Thanks for your time and a great interview, huge shout out to people supporting this project, the fans who have bought shirts, music and streamed the albums as well, you guys are sick. Cheers! – JVC

Global star and award-winning singer-songwriter Tom Odellunveils a deluxe version of his critically acclaimed album A Wonderful Life (Epilogue); listen HERE.

A Wonderful Life (Epilogue) features two new tracks, “When I Close My Eyes” and “It’s The Morning After Last Night’s Rain.” “When I Close My Eyes” has already become a fan-favourite, with over 50,000 creates on TikTok and 80 million views across platforms. The song explores the process of grief when losing a loved one, finding peace and comfort in the process.

Odell released A Wonderful Life last month to instant recognition from NPR All Songs Considered. He recently appeared on CBS Saturday Morning to perform “Don’t Let Me Go” alongside an interview with Anthony Mason and also visited ABC News Live Prime with Linsey Davis to discuss the process of making the project. The album was written partly as a reaction to the news cycle and “the sense, almost every week, that the world is ending in some capacity—which it is, for some people,” notes Odell, whose lyrics channel the despair, frustration and helplessness in the modern world.

He recorded A Wonderful Life at Church Studios, HOXA and RAK Studios’ legendary Room One, the space that birthed classic albums from Radiohead, The Pogues, Ultravox and more. Odell and his band recorded everything live with the instruments “bleeding in on one another” for a more authentic sound.

His emotionally charged songs detailing love, heartbreak and self-reflection continue to receive critical acclaim, winning the prestigious BRIT and Ivor Novello Awards and garnering praise from The Guardian, The Telegraph, Rolling Stone, The Evening Standard and The Observer, among others.

Odell is a renowned British singer and songwriter whose love for music can be traced back to grade school, pivoting from songwriter to singer in his band when they couldn’t hold down a frontman. After studying music in college, he embarked on a decade-long career in which his soul-baring projects have topped charts and won accolades worldwide.

Odell has amassed a rabid following, with multiple headline world tours, 32 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 14 billion career streams. His sixth album Black Fridayreached number five on Spotify’s Top Album Debut Global Chart and the haunting title track has earned over 700 million combined streams since its late-2023 release. Fans also re-discovered his first ever single, 2012’s “Another Love,” which has become an anthem on TikTok to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine and soared to over four billion plays on Spotify alone. With more imminent from Odell, he continues to push boundaries and unite people through his art.

THE RASMUS
Teams With Theory Of A Deadman’s Tyler Connolly
For New Version Of “Creatures Of Chaos”
Touring Australia in January 2026

The Rasmus have teamed with Theory of A Deadman’s lead singer Tyler Connolly to release an exciting new version of THE RASMUS’ powerful outsider anthem “Creatures of Chaos.”

”Tyler [Connolly] is an amazing singer and he added a new dimension to the song,” says frontman Lauri Ylönen. “This song is one of our best from the new album and it’s so cool that it gets some spotlight now.”

Tyler Connolly shares: “I got asked to guest sing on this Rasmus song and once I heard it, I was like, ‘Heck Yeah’!  Loved the track and love the band! Really enjoyed the back-and-forth verses between us, and it truly rocks! Now I got to get myself to Finland!!!”

Lauri explains that “Creatures of Chaos” is a “global shout out and an invitation to all misfits and anyone out there who’s ever felt like an outsider to join us! It was one of the first songs, and that’s kind of how the album title came about.  It’s also about accepting people as they are, which in this world is getting much harder for people to do. For me, it’s more personal: I sing like I could have been a soldier, but I’m afraid of guns. I could have been this or that, but I wasn’t strong enough to be those. My job is to do this. And I’m singing to one fan in the front row, giving her or him strength to carry on. It’s another kind of hero.”

Creatures of Chaos” is “also about the pressure of social media,” elaborates Lauri. “People feel like by 25 they need to have money, investments, be somebody. A lot of people are scared of growing up. I’ve always gained strength from being the underdog, and I love that. It keeps me going.”

Friday sets the tone with the alt-folk sounds of Norwood, Brisbane’s psych-rockers Full Flower Moon Band, and a huge headline set from Baker Boy – described by The Guardian as “the kind of rapper who can get a crowd airborne within seconds.”

Saturday is stacked from start to finish: local duo The Wildlings open the day, followed by Queenie, Felicity Urquhart & Josh Cunningham, the Andrew Gurruwiwi Band (all the way from N.E. Arnhem Land!), the new all-star project Bleak Squad (featuring Mick Harvey, Mick Turner & Adalita), the powerhouse soul of Emma Donovanperforming Take Me To The River (a tribute to the soul icons of the last century), and the all-commanding Cash Savage & The Last Drinks. All this leading into a massive headline performance from one of the best live bands this country has ever produced, The Living End.

Sunday closes the festival with Daisy Kilbourne, a spaghetti-western inspired project The Counterfeit ft. Freya Josephine Hollick, indie-pop fav Merpire, Paul Dempsey’s super fun Shotgun Karaoke, and a stunning finale from roots icon, Xavier Rudd.

Beloved MC Brian Nankervis (RocKwiz) will keep the whole show flowing with his trademark games, banter and wit.

And of course, the festival’s legendary paddlesteamer sideshows aboard the PS Pevensey return in 2026, offering intimate one-hour performances while cruising down the mighty Murray – a must-do Riverboats tradition that always sells out, so get in quick.

With its single stage, relaxed riverside atmosphere and setting just two and a half hours from Melbourne, Riverboats has grown into one of Australia’s most beloved festivals. Accommodation across Echuca-Moama books out quickly, so plan ahead now to make sure you don’t miss a weekend that’s shaping up to be the best Riverboats yet.

Record-breaking rock powerhouse The Pretty Reckless are ushering in the holiday season with a special surprise for fans both old and new. The chart-topping band, fronted by Taylor Momsen, have released an electrifying, reimagined version of Where Are You Christmas, the beloved holiday classic Momsen first performed as Cindy Lou Who in the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The track will appear on their upcoming holiday EP, Taylor Momsen’s Pretty Reckless Christmas, set for release on October 31st digitally, and November 14th physically, via Fearless Records.

Momsen on the release: “Revisiting “Where Are You Christmas” 25 years later feels like coming home to a part of myself I hadn’t seen in a long time. I was just a child when I first sang it, and I never could’ve imagined the way the song, and the film, would stay with people for so long and unknowingly shape my career path as an adult. Recording it now, with all the life I’ve lived in between, I hear it through a different lens.. but the heart of it is the same. It’s about wonder, hope, and holding on to the magic – something I think we all need more than ever.”

Stream Where Are You Christmas here and watch the visualizer here:
This marks the first time Momsen has revisited the song since The Grinch’s release 25 years ago, taking the heartwarming generational ballad and turning it into a rock anthem. Celebrating the film’s 25th anniversary, the performance serves as both a tribute to the classic and a bold reimagining for a new generation. With her strong vocals and signature edge, Momsen breathes new life into the timeless track, bridging the gap between her early Hollywood beginnings and the unapologetic artistry that has defined The Pretty Reckless’ sound.

Alongside the new version of Where Are You Christmas, Taylor Momsen’s Pretty Reckless Christmas will feature four additional original holiday songs, all wrapped in their trademark sound. The EP showcases The Pretty Reckless at their most dynamic, proving that even Christmas music can be rock ‘n’ roll.

Since their debut, The Pretty Reckless have established themselves as one of rock’s most fearless and successful acts. Now, with Taylor Momsen’s Pretty Reckless Christmas, they deliver a gift to longtime listeners and newcomers alike, a holiday project that celebrates breaking tradition.
