MORE ABOUT TITTY TWISTER
Titty Twister was originally conceived by Garrath Holt, Chris Mitchell and Sheree Matthews, all who currently play significant roles in the venue, festival, and fringe arts industries. The current show includes new-comer producer Alyssa Compton and taps heavily into the extravagant entertainment line up managed by Trucked Up Entertainment as well as the unique setting at Abbots Yard.
We’ve never produced a daytime festival for Titty Twister – traditionally starting at 10pm we’re finishing up at that time instead! The inspiration comes from the original concept of the event – From Dusk Til Dawn. The Twister Saloon is the bar in the Mexican desert in the film, used by culebras as a feeding ground and for sacrificial rituals. The event this November builds on this concept – gathering the old Titty Twister crew after 10 years as well as a whole new crowd,
ready for the slaughter (is that enough of a teaser for future events?!). The lineup is incredible, bringing psychobilly-surf-garage-punk trio Traumaboys and four-piece gothic country, punk and rock band Dead Rodeo to the fore early on. DJ Mermaid will see out the party toward the evening. Stage shows and performance will go on all day, breaking the mould that tease and freakshow only happens when the sun goes down. We’re just partying longer this time, from dawn til well-past dusk.
Kitty Obsidian fierce, proud Wiradjuri/Gamilaroi trans performer known for their slow seduction, ferocious fetish, and wicked sideshow will draw a crowd. Sparkarella, Australia’s premier angle grinder, has been performing on the Titty Twister stage since its inception in 2012. Pole stages will be flanked by industry leader Caroline Cazcapster (recently performed on stage with Snoop Dogg) and queer event regular heartthrob Criag Chrystie. On top of all the stage shows, we have 8 gogo dancers across the day keeping the dancefloor alive, all with their own placehold in the industry.
The artists are all pumped to be bringing this institutional event back to the fore, being a mix of proudly arts-focused, touring performers, independent producers, teachers and industry leaders. They’re the catalyst for pullin
