February 6th, 2026 – Today, multi-hyphenate musician Bayonne, Roger Sellers, returns with his new psych-pop single, “Multiphase,” out via Nettwerk. “Multiphase” begins a new chapter in Bayonne’s sonic journey. Synth-heavy, layered with percussion, and featuring dreamy vocals, this electrified track is a hypnotizing dose of melancholic indie pop with lyrics that translate the process of grief. Even with such a heavy subject matter, “Multiphase” could soundtrack a discothèque just as easily as a silver screen.

Roger shares, “‘Multiphase’ came from a loop that I recorded on my phone from a Prophet synthesizer years ago. I always loved the melancholic, yet hopeful nature of it. It’s about processing grief and feeling overwhelmed with multiple things at once, while also finding solace and comfort with time. At its core, it’s about the heavy emotions that can come with being a human and trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel in times of anguish.”

The message of “Multiphase” was inspired by Roger’s experience after seeing his mother grapple with his father’s death a few years prior. The line “Contemplate a message on the phone line” refers to a really strange, inexplicable voicemail his mother received on her landline weeks after his father passed, which played back a song he had recorded for her on Mother’s Day when he was young. At the end of the day, Roger shares, “This song is mainly just a reflection on how much grief can affect our lives and finding comfort with time.”

On February 26, Bayonne will embark on a handful of tour dates, including stops at Noise Pop Festival in San Francisco with electronic post-rock band Pinback, SXSW Music Festival in March, and a two-week run supporting experimental pop artist KishiBashi this Spring.

Since his 2016 debut album, Primitives, Bayonne has channeled his vast imagination into an elegant yet wildly experimental form of meditative, mesmerizing electronic pop. The Texas artist/producer/multi-instrumentalist uses his Bayonne moniker as a therapeutic source for his kinetic creative impulses. This process became especially cathartic following recent events in his personal life: his father’s death, the end of a significant relationship, and an overwhelming struggle with depression and anxiety. Deeply informed by a deliberate transformation of his musicality, Bayonne remains an outlet for music that’s full of both painfully raw introspection and otherworldly beauty.
