Melbourne soul singer-songwriter Tanya George unveils her long-awaited debut album, Contrast; the culmination of a decade of perseverance and artistic growth. Drawing inspiration from the soulful grooves of Jamiroquai, the fearless expression of Erykah Badu, and the raw honesty of Amy Winehouse, Contrast showcases Tanya’s distinctive voice and contemporary take on soul, indie RnB and jazzy pop.
Contrast arrives on all streaming platforms on 29 July, followed by an official launch show at Wax Music Lounge on Saturday 8 August. Backed by her electrifying six-piece band, Tanya brings the record to life in a powerful live performance, taking the songs directly from the studio to the stage.

- A chazard pokemon card – just because I know it’s impossible and I was obsessed with pokemon as a kid.
- A Teriyaki chicken stir fry with broccoli – I love any sort of Japanese food and girls gotta eat!
- A panda because I am going to China to play in Chengdu so I would like to get used to having them around.
- Purple Tracksuit – purple is my favourite colour and it’s a good idea to be relaxed in a purple tracksuit before and after the show, matching with the band of course.
- Ariana Grande – it’s important that she is there to help me do my vocal warm ups.
- My bunny Hip Hop – he passed away and there is not a day that goes by that I don’t miss my little man.
- A professional massage therapist – my shoulders, neck and back permanently need massages, this would be amazing & make me sing better, nice and relaxed & releasing tension, should probably make this number one.
