Shredders get amped! Following a sold out 2017 festival,SHAKAFESTis back on deck for a third year in 2018 with a fresh date, frothin’ lineup of music and skateboarding – all at a bangin’ new home at the Gold Coast’sBroadwater Parklands on Saturday November 24.

Announced this morning online byAustralian comedian ‘Cunny’ (Josh Wade), the lineup once again brings some of the best national rock and hip-hop acts together for a day-long party in the sun. Leading the pack are Sydney hip-hop collectiveBliss N Esowho joinSHAKAFESTfollowing a huge year with the release of their huge albumOff The Grid. Party startersLast Dinosaursgrace theSHAKAFESTstage in the middle of a massive run. They’ve sold out every show on their upcoming tour and have a heap of new material on the way. Australia’s favourite space explorer,Alex The Astronautbrings her stunning live show and A+ banter toSHAKAFESTas does fellow electric ladyBec Sandridge.SHAKAFESTbrings two generations of scuzzy vibestogether withFrenzal RhombandThe Chatsrocking up to ensure you’ve ‘Never Had So Much Fun’. Plus Brisbane’s gold-record-sellingCarmouflage Roseand GC localJesswarhit the SHAKA stage for the very first time. They are absolute bosses on the mic and their pure-fire hip-hop sets are not to be missed. For the laughs, ‘Shoey’ ambassador and all round good bloke,Frenchyis MC’ing the whole event. Plus, Frenchy’s band,Frenchy & The Talentare the first band to be announced on the brand newRabbit Stage.Curated by the one and only Rabbit Radio crew the Rabbit Stage also hosts punk legendsClownsandVOIID.With heaps more artists to be announced, SHAKAFEST is just getting started.

Following the huge success of previous years,SHAKAFESThas outgrown its original home at Miami Shark Bar, leading to the relocation of the Coast’s favourite one-day-rager to a bigger space. Festival organisers say punters will be ‘absolutely stoked’ with the new ocean-sidehome at Broadwater Parklands with the rolling greens allowing more freedom for the team to be creative with the festival layout and the nearby G:link connecting to just about every transport hub in South East Queensland.The new site also allows for the return of the famedSHAKAFEST half-pipewith an impressive lineup ofskateboarding talentto be announced soon.
