On the eve of their headline show in Amsterdam, Naarm/Melbourne artist REDD. shares new single ‘better’ and announces their upcoming project heaven’s here is set for release on Friday November 20 (on Island Records Australia). An intoxicating rush of fuzz guitars, blurred vision and magnified feelings, ‘better’ explores escapism and the impulse to abandon responsibility in favour of a good time! Originally conceived as a party track in late 2025, ‘better’ took on a different weight by the time REDD. recorded it in London with acclaimed producer Dan Carey (Wet Leg, Fontaines D.C., Geese). REDD. shares “I was dealing with a lot personally, and the pub became this strange place of comfort and escape. ‘Better’ is about that feeling of wanting to outrun reality, even if only for a night.” As the second track to be lifted from heaven’s here, ‘better’ is driven by a cheeky and undeniably infectious hook, “If you like me now, I’m better when I’m f*cked up”; a line that captures the reckless optimism, self-destruction and fleeting freedom that defines late nights in your early twenties.

Punk, rap and electro, shape personal songwriting with poignant details on REDD.’s new project. Exploring themes of gender, sexuality, grief, love, escapism and coming of age heaven’s here is deeply personal as it is relatable. A 4k snapshot of REDD.s life, tracks on the project reflect experimentation, self-discovery and self-expression inherent in youth. REDD. says about their new project, “I remember before I went to write and record ‘heaven’s here’ I wanted it to be a party, an escape for people. The week leading up to my writing trip for the project I had a difficult series of events followed by me and my girlfriend at the time breaking up. Life got very heavy, very fast. And now I needed an escape from something. That’s what heaven’s here became. To me heaven’s here is about identity, grief and self discovery. I felt as if I had gone all the way back to square one and had to be build myself back up again. It was an incredibly difficult time of my life and there were many times where I found myself escaping and coping through substances and lust.”
