After bringing thousands of people together for the inaugural ASIA POP FEST in 2017, the amphitheatre will again come alive next March with activities, food, drink, and entertainment from incredible artists from across the Asia Pacific region. The concert will be a celebration of Melbourne’s diverse community, and will help further strengthen the important and ever-growing relationship between Australia and Asia.
‘A runaway success would be an understatement’ – Hello Asia
‘ASIA POP FEST was a highlight for Australia in 2017. It gave Asian pop fans the opportunity to meet, connect and enjoy incredible acts in a fantastic venue’
– Andy Trieu, SBS PopAsia
The alliance to produce ASIA POP FEST 2020 strengthens the already rich relationship between Frontier Touring’s parent company, Mushroom Group, and Arts Centre Melbourne; both companies having worked closely together previously on realising the long held dream to deliver the Australian Music Vault.
Frontier Touring CEO Michael Gudinski says of the partnership: “At Frontier we’re always excited to bring new live music offerings to different audiences. Arts Centre Melbourne and Asia TOPA are as passionate as we are about this, and we’re thrilled to be putting on this concert with them at the iconic Bowl.”
Asia TOPA Associate Director Kate Ben-Tovim says “It’s incredibly exciting to be partnering with Frontier Touring to present the return of Asia Pop Fest in 2020. We were bowled over by the response from audiences when we piloted Asia Pop Fest in 2017. To be returning the gig with major music industry player Frontier says so much about the cultural force that is the Asian pop industry, and the huge young audience in our city that love these acts and want to see them in Melbourne.“
