Announce ‘Begins Here’ 20th Anniversary Tour
February 2024

Imagine a band with the progressive edge of Tool, the songwriting craft of Deftones and the live punch of System of a Down – this is the Butterfly Effect. – Rate Your Music 2004

The Butterfly Effect have achieved a debut album which is both brilliant and daring. Daring because it manages to be musically illuminating while retaining its heavy rock staples of screaming and angst. They already possess a unique sound, encompassing the melody of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the angst and fury of System Of A Down. Music OMH 2004

Legendary and much beloved Australian rockers The Butterfly Effect celebrate the 20th Anniversary of their landmark debut album, Begins Here, today!

Crashing into homes nationwide on August 3, 2003, “Begins Here” spawned four massive singles, One Second Of Insanity, Crave, Always & Beautiful Mine, appearing in the Hottest 100 across 2003/2004. The album peaked at #23 on the ARIA Album Charts, topped the Independent charts, was included in the top 10 albums of 2003 by the UK’s Kerrang! Magazine and was certified Gold!

In celebration of this momentous milestone, The Butterfly Effect will be hitting the road for an Anniversary tour that takes in every capital city, including the nations’.

Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra will bear witness to Begins Here being performed IN FULL for the first time, plus a selection of tracks from the bands killer catalogue including songs from their most recent album 2022’s IV.

After a lengthy hiatus followed by a highly praised reunion back in 2018, anticipation has been ongoing and palpable for diehard and new fans alike aching to experience the Butterfly Effect live.

Their reputation as one of the all-time Australian alternative greats is backed by multiple appearances on The Big Day Out, countless laps of the country and extensive tours of Europe.

It Begins Here…
Armed with their debut self-titled EP back in 2001, The Butterfly Effect swiftly hit the road and found themselves named as Triple M’s Unsigned Find of 2002. The following year, Begins Here launched a fan and industry frenzy and led to their first European tour. Fast forward to 2006 and their second album Imago debuts at number 2 on the ARIA Albums charts and goes gold in just 8 weeks! 2008’s Final Conversation of Kings, would continue the band’s certified gold streak, debuting at number 3 and revealing a more progressive sonic tinge compared to the band’s heavier beginnings.

In 2012 the band’s story detoured with frontman Clint Boge’s departure and well documented ‘Farewell Tour’. After reconnecting in 2017, a reunion tour in March of 2018 would go on to completely sell out in record time, showing that fans would not let this iconic act go that easily. The tour paved the way for album number four, aptly titled IV, being released in 2022 and debuting at #5 on the ARIA Album charts, to the celebration of fans everywhere.

The opportunity of seeing one of the finest debut albums in Aussie heavy rock played in full, coupled with the bands established history for swiftly selling out their tours means that tickets are going be a hot item.
