The duo that are Winterbourne have been friends for years, and have lived and still do, on NSW Central Coast. They are avid performers, who love to take their music to the live stage. Originally performing in Pitt St Mall they have now toured with the likes of Little May and Dean Lewis and headline their own national tours.

After four years, Australian indie rock-folk band Boy and Bear made a triumphant return by touring Australia. They played a sold-out show to a receptive crowd at the Forum Melbourne, who were eager to hear their favourite songs and tracks off the upcoming album.
This tour will be followed by the U.S and European tour to coincide with their fourth album release “Suck on Light”, on September 27.
Scottish and Irish rockers Snow Patrol returned to Australia after celebrating a 25 year career as a band. With a huge fan base in Australia, they performed to a full house in the charming Palais Theatre.
Talented singer and songwriter Ryan McMullan opened the evening, and filled in Johnny McDaid’s piano and vocal slot for Snow Patrol along with Gary Lightbody on vocals and guitar, and guitarist Nathan Connelly. The stripped-back lineup provided the opportunity to perform crowd favourites such as “Open Your Eyes” and “Chasing Cars” in an acoustic format.

Australia’s biggest music industry gathering and new music discovery festival BIGSOUNDhas dropped a last minute surprise, revealing “extremely dedicated” Fyre Festival event producer Andy King will be making his way downunder to address the conference, giving insight into the world of event promotion and why you should never run out of water.
A pop culture icon following the Netflixdocumentary ‘Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened’, Andy King has become the event management poster child for going the extra mile with a history of successful events to his name in the States to contrast with the exceptional circumstances surrounding his more famous endeavour. His learnings, insights and good humour will set the scene for BIGSOUND 2019.
With the entire conference and live music timetable also revealed today, BIGSOUND has dropped 70+ more speakers and buyers, including representatives from Spotify, ARIA, triple j, The Fader, Sony Music, Unified Music Group, Secret Service, X-Ray Touring, and more.
They join the recently announced keynote speakers Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino, music writer and industry figure Vivien Goldman, Frontier Touring’s Sahara Herald, acclaimed artist Mojo Juju, and Nettwerk Music’s Terry McBride, as well as a keynote featuring four First Nations voices to unpack cultural resurgence and working within a global settler-led music industry.
BIGSOUND also unveils its full program schedule, giving you a taste of the panels, forums, workshops, and presentations which will dissect the music industry today, look forward to where it’s heading, opportunities to brainstorm ideas, hear different perspectives, and discuss all the key topics at the forefront of artists and the industry’s minds.
And that’s before we even get to the 150 bands and over a dozen parties including the first Indie Label Market on the event’s closing night. BIGSOUND is teaming up withMountain Goat and [PIAS] for the market between 5-8pm featuring indie labels from around Australia as they sell vinyl, merch and spin some of their releases before turning Ric’s Backyard into the final night of live music as the featured labels showcase their rosters.
BIGSOUND has partnered with YouTube Music to present the first ever Artist Village!In this sanctuary and meeting place, YouTube Music will provide artists with exclusiveworkshops on how to maximise their music potential with the help of its global platform. YouTube Music experts will also be on hand for one-on-one assistance for artists, managers and publishers on topics at all levels – including leveraging and growing your audience, monetising your channel, playlisting, content IDs and digital fingerprinting.

Also dropping in for single shows are Falls’ signature guests! Tash Sultana (appearing as our special guest in Byron Bay) will be showcasing the multi instrumental talents that have made her an international star; What So Not taking his humungous live show to Lorne; Matt Corby arriving on-stage fresh from the release of last year’s breathtaking Rainbow Valley and appearing on the Fremantle leg; popping up in Marion Bay – the crater creating riffs of the untouchable Wolfmother.
After introducing a beefed-up arts program last year which included all manner of performances, activations, installations and curiosities strewn throughout the sites of each stop, Falls will again level up in 2019/20. This year, as every year, organisers will expand in scope as they simultaneously narrow their focus to provide each punter with the best possible festival experience. From humble beginnings in Lorne 27 years ago, Falls has grown to become the absolute gold standard of Australian festivals. Thousands flock to famous coastal locations to enjoy a New Year’s filled with camping, nature, music and unforgettable memories.

PIXIES, one of the most influential alternative rock bands of all time, are bringing their mammoth world tour to Australia and New Zealand in 2020 – Come On Pilgrim… It’s Surfer Rosa. Pixies’ debut releases – the electrifying 1987 EP Come On Pilgrim and 1988’s debut full-length album, Surfer Rosa – brought rise to a new genre and defined contemporary music for a generation.
The tour will bear witness to both seminal albums being performed in full – plus new and old tracks spanning their extensive catalogue. Surfer Rosa is a record made up of rage, religion, gore, incest and superheroes named Tony – a debut album so good that it’s since been seen as a masterpiece. Produced by Steve Albini, it includes early Pixies classics such as “Bone Machine,” “Gigantic,” “Vamos” and “Where Is My Mind?”. Come On Pilgrim contained eight songs from the band’s first-ever studio session, produced by Gary Smith and recorded at his Fort Apache Studio near Boston.
Returning for what will be only their fourth visit to Australia, the band will perform at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on March 10, then head to Brisbane and Sydney before flying west for a final show at Fremantle Arts Centre on March 17. In Sydney, Pixies will play a not-to-be-missed momentous show under the stars at Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Saturday, March 14.
Tickets for all shows go on sale at 1pm Thursday, August 8.

Forming in Boston, Massachusetts in 1986, Pixies are often acclaimed as the most influential, pioneering alternative band of the late 80s, garnering extraordinary critical and popular acclaim. After five genre-defining studio albums, Pixies disbanded in 1993. The tide turned in 2004 – the band reunited and began touring, playing to sell-out crowds around the world including their first-ever Australian performances in 2007, later to be followed by a 13-show sold-out Doolittle tour in 2010 and again in 2017.
Pixies will release their brand new and eighth studio album, Beneath The Eyrie, on September 13 (through Infectious/BMG). Visceral, musically cinematic, otherworldly but strangely familiar and a bit unsettling – the album boasts 12 new tracks produced by GRAMMY nominated Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Royal Blood, Pixies’ Head Carrier). Lead single “On Graveyard Hill,” is an in-your-face, classic Pixies tale of imminent, ominous doom. Fans can pre-order the album now. The evolution of the album’s creative process is uniquely documented in a 12-episode podcast entitled It’s a Pixies Podcast.
Willing is a two-piece Melbourne music project making sensual avant-pop for your sins. Fresh from the release of their latest trap-rock jam, Hungry, Will and Charlie are now recoiling to finish up their debut album tentatively titled, Pure Romance and Utter Devastation.

The brainchild behind this unique symphonic expression is Ugly Kid Joe front man, life-long Sabbath connoisseur and multi-platinum recording artistWhitfield Crane.
After a European tour, Crane made himself at home in Verona, Italy – the birthplace of classical music and opera, and during that time the vocalist made his dream of marrying these two genres a reality.
The end result was a sold-out performance with Whit fronting the Machiavelli Orchestra performing a show comprising of Sabbath classics, choice cuts from Ozzy Osbourne’s solo career, and the prime movers from Whit’s own 30-year catalogue.
The music was all scored by fast-rising Italian conductor Andrea Basstoni – whose performance credits have led him to be one of the world’s most-sought after young conductors in modern classical music.
Now, with the assistance of good friend and co-producer Australian Tennis legend Pat Cash, ORCHESTRA OF DOOM arrives in Australia and will see Whit perform with the Philarmonia Australia Orchestra.
