Newton Faulkner celebrates the release of his new double album ‘The Very Best Of… So Far’ which includes a beautiful bonus disc of covers like you’ve never heard before including a stunning, heartfelt version of Gene Wilder’s classic from Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, Pure Imagination that offers a completely unique and personalized take on one of cinemas greatest musical moments.

The album also shows Faulkner’s range and personality, taking on tracks from Dua Lipa and Queen as well as a joyous rendition of the Sponge Bob Square Pants theme tune in memory of the the shows creator Stephen Hillenburg who passed last year of  Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The 31 track double album will also featuring fan favorites Dream Catch Me, Write It On Your Skin, Clouds as well as three brand new songs all showcasing Newton’s brilliance as a songwriter, including lead single Don’t Leave Me Waiting which was written while on tour in Australia.

Newton comments; “I wrote this on a trip to Australia when I was meant to have a day off, which doesn’t normally happen when working so far away so I put a writing session in and I’m very glad I did. It’s a song about a friend’s relationship and a situation I think most people have found themselves in, of waiting to find out if someone wants to go out with you, or not. She said yes, so it’s all cool.”

Throughout Newton Faulkner’s immensely successful career he has sold over 1.5 million records with 180 million streams making him one of the UK’s most successful singer-songwriters this millennium. Last year Faulkner took to the stage performing as The Sung Thoughts of the Journalist in Jeff Wayne’s UK Arena tour of The War of the Worlds.

After releasing his critically praised track ‘Call It Love’, UK-based indie singer-songwriter, Nathan Ball, is set to release his stunning new single ‘Saving Grace’.

“Saving Grace is loosely about being on uneven footing in a relationship, where one person feels inadequate and perceives everyone around shares that belief. It was written in a very cold, bitter winter in a cottage out in Cornwall with collaborator and producer Max Radford” says Nathan.

Previous singles ‘All or Nothing’ and ‘Call it Love’ were strongly supported by triple j, ABC Local Radio, Australian community radio, Flux FM (Germany), Radio 2 (Netherlands) and over 80 regional radio stations in the UK.

The tracks were also warmly received by Spotify, Apple Music and online outlets GQ, Music Feeds, The Music, The AU Review, Mixdown Mag, Australian Guitar Mag, The Right Note, Tram Sessions, AAA Backstage and Savage Thrills.

Following his headline European Tour in December, which included a sold-out London gig at Asylum Chapel, Nathan headed to Australia where he supported Ziggy Alberts on a 24 date sold-out tour. Nathan returns to the UK for a run of dates this April and May across the UK, Germany and Netherlands before a string of festival shows across the Summer.

Nathan’s work fuses two chief loves – classic song writing and an eagerness to experiment and push sonic boundaries. Perhaps unexpectedly, he finds inspiration in left-field house music. “I love the way it makes you feel – it’s euphoric, but sad, introverted but expressive. I love that darker side of the genre”.

His songs cross traditional boundaries of indie, folk and electronica, the universal thread being Nathan’s emotive and magnetic voice.

WE BURN BRIDGES ANNOUNCE ‘HEAD PRISON’ EP AND DROP FIRST SINGLE “SELF DROUGHT” WITH VIDEO
Northern Territory’s Post-Hardcore five-piece We Burn Bridges just announced the release of their debut EP ‘Head Prison’ on May 17. As a taste of what’s to come, the band dropped the single “Self Drought” with a music video to accompany.

Isolated away in Darwin, We Burn Bridges has been carving their name into the local heavy music scene over the last few years. In 2016 the track “Coward” was nominated for Northern Territory’s Heavy Song of the Year. Since this, the band has been working hard behind the scenes to add new flavour to “Coward”, to create four new songs to add to their repertoire and to bring the ‘Head Prison’ EP to life.

“Self Drought” is plucked straight from the brain space of vocalist Jack Ryan and touches on themes of unhealthy habits. “Self Drought for the most part is about my struggle with addiction” says Jack, “…not necessarily addiction to drugs or alcohol but the nature of addiction and how I can become fixated on things that aren’t healthy for me.Writing this song helped me put things into perspective and get through a bit of a rough time. No one is ever alone, there is always help out there and I hope people are inspired to find that after hearing this track.”

Paired with driving guitar riffs from Alisdair Mahoney, deep bass lines by Manolis Kamitsis, heavy drums from Luke Kohler, raw vocals from Jack and intervals of clean vocals provided by Ben Masters (who also plays in Tapestry), “Self Drought” is a solid example of what’s to follow.

Supporting the likes of Northlane, In Hearts Wake and Hellions to name a few, We Burn Bridges is no stranger to the stage. The band will be launching their single at Happy Yess in Darwin with fellow homegrown talent Clockwork Riot, Fat Pigeon and Assailant on Friday April 5.
