Neo-Soul Artist Mareshah Releases New Velvety Soulful
Single ‘Pursuit’
Australian Neo-Soul artist Mareshah showcases her sweet velvety tones and gospelinfluences in new single ‘
Pursuit,’a soulful tune off her upcoming EP ‘Unjaded’
.
Drawn from Mareshah’s personal experiences exploring belief, ‘Pursuit’ is about her
humbling realisations that you don’t need to be perfect to be loved by God, nor do you
need to be completely put-together to be worthy.
On the single Mareshah said “‘Pursuit’ celebrates the freedom of knowing you may not
have it all together but you are sought-after, valued and known”.
Through her strong lyrical ability and demonstrated mastery of articulating the ‘subjective
experience,’ Mareshah’s artistic delivery allows her to connect with her listeners to the
point of cognitive convergence. In saying that, her music is beautifully relatable, which is
achieved by acknowledging her flaws and taking ownership of her identity.
Based in Melbourne, Mareshah’s musical inspiration comes from a richly diverse range of
artists, many of which are outside of her own time. With 15 years experience in the music
industry, playing Melbourne bars, clubs and stadiums alike, to lending her voice for
televised sporting and music events -Mareshah is excited to take her own music to the
next level.
It goes without saying that her unique blend of fiery sass and velvety tones can be
expected in her upcoming EP ‘Unjaded,’ which is slated for release later this year

27 Listicle Series: Milk Buttons
5 Artists That Have Been On Repeat by Milk Buttons
Jim Hall – The guitarist who has influenced my playing and approach the most. His work in the 1960’s with Bill Evans and Sonny Rollins is still the stuff I go to when I want to learn something new about the guitar. Recommended Listening: All Across the City – Bill Evans and Jim Hall
Parveen Sultana – A vocalist of the North Indian classical tradition. Her voice is intensely powerful and mesmerising. Sometimes the tone doesn’t sit right with the unaccustomed ear, but if one knows what to listen out for her performances are sublime. Her soul shines through on her recordings. Along with Buddahdev DasGupta she is one of my favourite North Indian performers. Recommended recording: Raga Gujri Todi – live from Savai Gandharva Music Festival 1992 – Parveen Sultana (or whatever you can find, her recordings can be tricky to locate)
Lester Young – “Prez” a long time collaborator with another one of my absolute musical loves, Billie Holiday. Lester Young pulls a beautiful tone from the Tenor Sax, and his improvisational approach is rather minimal and to the point. I transcribed a bit of his playing in my student days. He’s deeply connected to a blues tradition but is highly original in his approach to improvisation and jazz. Recommended Listening: Lester Young with The Oscar Peterson Trio
Stella Donnely – A fantastic songwriter who is blowing up at the moment. She seems to be touring like crazy. Her songs are so good, and she’s got an incredible voice too. I cried when I listened to Boys Will Be Boys for the first time. It’s such an unambiguous song and it’s so powerful. Lyrics that don’t rely on metaphor or wordplay too much really speak to me. In saying that, the aforementioned song has this beautifully simple and kind of funny line: “Like a mower in the morning, I will never let you rest” sung with a delicate intensity which I just love. Recommended listening: Thrush Metal – Stella Donnely
Caterina Barbieri – Intense electronica from Berlin via Italy. In her words is “a…composer who explores themes related to machine intelligence and object-oriented perception in sound through a focus on minimalism” Her latest album Born Again In The Voltage is a monster of modular synthesis, an avant-garde jungle of sound. She came out to Australia with William Basinski recently, but they didn’t come up to Brisbane so I missed out unfortunately. Recommended listening: Born Again in the Voltage – Caterina Barbieri
In full bloom, Milk Buttons are following up their highly acclaimed debut EP with six explosive, golden yellow alt/ psych-rock tracks in this sophomore EP, ‘Daffodil’ (out March 22)
2018 had Milk Buttons planting the seed for this EP with their colorful, kaleidoscopic singles – ‘Cosmic Garbage’ released in August and ‘Some Impression’ released in November – where their psychedelic tones and textured sounds had audiences unanimously absorbed.

With the 30th anniversary re-release of the year for ‘Talk Is Cheap’ on March 29th via BMG, Keith Richards today releases the video and IG for bonus track ‘Big Town Playboy’.
The stone cold classic album will be re-issued as a super deluxe box-set, deluxe box set, CD, LP and digital.
Effortlessly timeless, the bluesy guitar and bassline in combination with Keith’s husky voice in ‘Big Town Playboy’ transport the listener back to a different time: one of laughter, booze and rock ‘n’ roll. (bit on video)

In 1988 Keith Richards released his first ever solo album, ‘Talk Is Cheap’, an eleven track masterclass in everything good about rock ‘n roll.
30 years on, a reissue of the album is being released including a very limited Super Deluxe Box Set this month.
From March 22nd ‘The Final Five’ from the production line will be featured in ‘The Keith Collection’, an exhibition in some of the worlds top Rock n Roll hotels including the Karma Sanctum Soho in London, 25hours Bikini Hotel in Berlin, L’Hotel Paris, O.D. BARCELONA and Andaz West Hollywood. Without being one of the lucky 1145 people to own one of these limited edition boxes, this will be the only opportunity to see the box in all it’s glory.
These boxes really are pieces of art with a real-wood case that was hand-built and aged by Fender, using the same materials as Keith’s iconic vintage telecaster, Micawber. It takes 37 Fender staff to complete each box , plus an additional 11 different suppliers of parts and services: from corrugated boxes to graphics on the chrome control plate, to the sawmill cutting the ash. It takes 2 weeks to produce each box. However, the first box took about 4 months and 20 different prototypes to get each part correct
“The aging on the brass name plate is done in a high temperature metal tempering oven (Temperature, time, and exact process is a trade secret). The ash exterior is a multi-step process that is also proprietary, but is different that we use in aging guitars, due to the precision required to age a guitar in the appropriate areas that wear due to use.” Mike Born, head of wood at Fender
You will find ‘The Final Five’ in the following hotels from March 14th for 8 weeks:
#1146 – Karma Sanctum Soho, London
#1147 – 25hours Hotel Bikini, Berlin

News: CULT OF FIRE Czech Republic Black Metal Titans Return To Australia This May!
An ominous shadow will fall across the southern hemisphere this coming May..
Prague’s Black Metal titans, Cult Of Fire will descend on Australian for one show only – an exclusive evening of epic, occult worship to be held in Melbourne as part of their Eastern Fire Puja Tour.
Cult Of Fire seamlessly incorporate esoteric, tantric and Vedic rituals with the dark arts to produce otherworldly atmospheres that put them in a league of their own. Raw and cursed, their haunting neoclassical inspired musical compositions are almost supernatural and exist in a realm where time and space have little meaning.
Australian fans first encountered Cult Of Fire during the 2016 installment of Dark Mofo where their mesmerizing performance was hailed as one of the festivals highlights.
Come and be part of an evening unlike any other you may have experienced – the line between religious ceremony and live music performance has never been more blurred.
