⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Stars
Taking three flights of stairs up to the Jade room, we arrive at the very top of the building, handed a piece of paper and a pen, asking us to write the most normal thing we can think of and place it into a bucket on stage.
Prowling the room is Mel McGlensey dressed in a tight white dress, awaiting her prey ( audience).
She takes to the stage and informs the crowd that the doors are locked and we’re now hers. What is about to ensue is utter chaos.
Hello, and welcome to Mel McGlensey is Normal. I’m not Mel McGlensey. She sounds hot, though. I’m your host, Nor- Mel.. I’ll be your facilitator for this very normal, very normal, very normal hour of comedy. You’re probably here to see alternative comedian, very fuckable Mel McGlassy. Why is that funny? But, you see, she’s not here. She is currently trapped inside a simulation. She’ll only be let out if she can be normal for an entire hour of comedy.
We, the audience are tasked at rating Mel normal enough to be set free from the simulation that has entrapped her. So from a scale of one to the weird shit you see on Smith St, just how weird is Mel?
Over the next hour we are immersed in a choose your own adventure comedy show where by popular vote, we the audience controls the show and what bits we’ll see next. Is it – Mel predicting how you’ll die ( spoiler alert, most of the audience will die by dick explosions) or will it be
What ensues is utterly hilarious and unhinged comedy that takes twists and turns that are so unpredictable that we can only guess what will happen next. If seeing McGlensey cluck like a chicken while the audience steals her eggs wasn’t on your bingo card then it’s time to put it there. This show is wildly entertaining, so unhinged that you’ll have tears running down your face in laughter.
What McGlensey does best is push the comedy envelope, taking the audience to places that hinge on inappropriate, but it’s sheer fucking brilliance. For the more conservative members of the audience watching them squirm as she pushes things is all part of the show- and it’s just as entertaining as she is. For those that participate they contribute, making it even funnier.
McGlensey has created a unique and clever show, that is well devised brilliantly executed and is laugh out loud from the time she steps on stage to the final scene. She’s a comedic genius with each bit funnier and more unhinged than the last.
When life and the world is so serious at the moment, Mel McGlensey is a breath of fresh air. The world needs weird people, we need to laugh and the genius that is McGlensey does just that with her hour of absolutely brilliant comedy.
