Following up from his debut release on Sweat It Out, ‘All Of The Time’, Sunday is ready to present ‘Perfect Place’, the second offering off his forthcoming EP. ‘Perfect Place’ sees Sunday dabble between indie songwriting and moodier electronic beats by opening with a chilled alternative production before delving into light punchy beats. Combining this aesthetic with his own sultry vocals, ‘Perfect Place’ dreamily encapsulates his own unique realm of indie electronica.

Aaron Shanahan has had an extremely impressive career to date, touring with the likes of Empire Of The Sun, Crystal Fighters, Phoenix and collaborating with artists such as George Maple, Goldroom and Gigamesh, whilst as the guitarist/vocalist/co-producer for indie dance act Miami Horror. It comes as no surprise then that Sunday, has already roused support from world-renowned outlets such as Billboard and NYLON plus received Spotify Viral Chart entries in Australia, New Zealand and Belgium on his previous single, ‘All Of The Time’, that has now garnered over an impressive half a million streams.

The aroma of stale beer hung in the air of the historic venue that is Festival Hall as Franz Ferdinand took to the stage. After an epic performance at Splendour in the Grass the Glaswegians showed no signs of slowing down.

Lead singer  Alex Kapranos  is the front man of all front men with his ability to engage the audience, reaching out the them imploring they sing along  and ‘ Feel the love’.  He is everything a front man should embody, from the skills on the guitars to the high kicks and gravity deifying jumps Kapranos puts on a good show. Whilst the heady days of Brit Pop being on the top of the charts are long gone a new generation is now reliving the highs of the era and Kapranos has them eating out of his outstretched palm.

Working through a set list comprising of “Dark of The Matinee”, ” No You Girls” , ” Always Ascending ” there isn’t a moment when the crowd are not dancing with abandon. Even the semi- fans here to experience the few songs they know dance with abandon, making the floor shake.

Saving the best of course for last the room erupts in excitement as the opening bars of mega- hit ‘ Take Me Out’ ring out and for those few moments there is an air of pure pleasure as strangers dance and laugh along side each other.

As the sweaty crowd file out into the crisp winters evening, the floor littered with plastic cups the lads of Franz Ferdinand have shown yet again that whilst other Brit Pop alum may have faded into the shadows of obscurity  Franz Ferdinand the band have thrived with good music and a great live experience.

FLORENCE + THE MACHINE’S Australian fans continue to show their love for the British band with Geelong’s a day on the green show now officially sold out.

More than 20,000 fans will attend the event on Saturday January 19 at Mt Duneed Estate, once again reinforcing a day on the green’s incredible popularity in the region.

Americana/alt country artist, Gretta Ziller, is known for pushing boundaries with her roots spanning across genres, which was a major influence on her including a rock track on her debut album, Queen of Boomtown. Let It Go has been very well received across both country AND rock radio, with airplay on commercial and community stations across Australia since its release.

Let It Go is an upbeat track inspired by the rock influences from Ziller’s youth, such as Tom Petty and The Hoodoo Gurus, blended with her current influences, including JD McPherson and Lucinda Williams, and demonstrates the Melbourne-based artist’s musical prowess and assured sense of melody.

Three huge days in Launceston that will see a very impressive gathering of your fav Aussie bands take over The Launceston Workers Club from November 2 to 4.
Curating the festival since its inception in 2014 and heading up the line up is local Tasmanian legends Luca Brasi. Fresh off the back of releasing their fourth album Stay and touring the mainland, Luca Brasi have toured non-stop both at home and abroad over the last few years and are stoked to continue Wheels in 2018, to bring a bunch of their musical mates together in their much-loved Tassie.

Joining Luca Brasi is the brutally honest, both on stage and off, Perth’s Tired Lion who last year released their critically acclaimed, triple j Feature album, Dumb Days. Melbourne four piece, Ceres, are next up. Bringing their genius melodies and heartfelt tales of lost love to Tassie. Along with Adelaide indie-punk duo The Hard Aches.

Having just released their second album St. Leonards, Slowly Slowly, along with and the electrifying WAAX and Melbourne mates Press Club and Cable Ties are heading over the ditch for the weekend.
