News: SMITH / KOTZEN Iron Maiden’s Adrian Smith & The Winery Dogs’ Richie Kotzen Debut Album To Be Released March 26! As Transatlantic Rock Icons Join Forces

Adrian Smith is best known as one of Iron Maiden’s principal guitarists, having also enjoyed success as a solo artist. Richie Kotzen is the frontman for The Winery Dogs as well as having been the guitarist for both Mr Big and Poison during his long and acclaimed career, which has to date seen him release more than 20 solo albums. Both artists are also prolific songwriters.

Recorded on the Turks & Caicos Islands in February 2020, produced by Richie and Adrian and mixed by Kevin “Caveman” Shirley, this nine track opus is a consummate collaboration between these two highly respected musicians who co-wrote all the songs and also share lead vocals and trade off on guitar and bass duties throughout the record.

Exploding with powerful melodies & harmonies, the album embodies the spirited attitude of 70’s classic rock with a melting-pot of influences ranging from blues, hard rock, traditional R&B and more, blending the pair’s backgrounds and life experiences to result in a thoroughly contemporary sound.

The full track-listing is:
Taking My Chances
Running
Scars
Some People
Glory Road
Solar Fire
You Don’t Know Me
I Wanna Stay
‘Til Tomorrow

The record features special guest performances by Adrian’s fellow Iron Maiden bandmate Nicko McBrain on drums for the track Solar Fire, and Richie’s longstanding friend and touring partner Tal Bergman on drums for You Don’t Know Me, I Wanna Stay and ‘Til Tomorrow, with Richie picking up the sticks on the other five songs.

Adrian Smith comments, “Richie and I started working together a couple of years ago. We’d been jamming as we’d been friends for a few years before that. We both share a love for classic rock and bluesy rock so we decided to get together and start writing some songs and it went from there. Pretty much everything on the album is handled between Richie and myself including the production. We had developed a really strong idea of how we wanted it to sound and I’m very pleased with how it turned out. There’s a lot of cool songs on there that we are really happy with.

Richie Kotzen adds “We had a very fluid process in writing. Sometimes Adrian would send me a riff and I would immediately hear some kind of melody or a vocal idea. And sometimes it was the other way round so it was a kind of circular motion. We’d get together whenever we could and throw some ideas around and it just evolved, which was great because there was no pressure and nothing other than just a natural course and I think the record really speaks for that.”

The album will be available in these formats:
Digipack CD
12” black vinyl with embossed sleeve
Digital (streaming and download)
Limited edition 12” red & black smoke effect coloured vinyl

With Taking My Chances having been greeted with enormous excitement and acclaim by rock fans and media worldwide on its release in December – and now with the accompanying video shot in both LA & London – Smith/Kotzen fully cements the new partnership between these two extraordinary talents and sets the scene for this innovative and exciting collaboration to light up 2021 and the world of rock music beyond.

News: CHEAP TRICK Return With Light Up The Fire The Incendiary New Single Heralds Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers’ Eagerly Awaited 20th Studio Album In Another World. To Be Released via BMG On Friday, April 9

The one and only Cheap Trick have announced today’s premiere of their pummeling new single. “Light Up The Fire” is available now!.

The song heralds Cheap Trick’s eagerly anticipated 20th studio album, In Another World, arriving via BMG on Friday, April 9.
Produced by longtime associate Julian Raymond, In Another World sees Cheap Trick doing what they do better than anyone — crafting indelible rock ‘n’ roll with oversized hooks, mischievous lyrics, and seemingly inexorable energy. Trademark anthems like “Light Up The Fire” and “Boys & Girls & Rock N Roll” are countered by more introspective – but no less exuberant – considerations of times past, present, and unknowable future on such strikingly potent new tracks as “Another World” and “I’ll See You Again.”

In Another World – which marks Cheap Trick’s first new LP since 2017’s double-header of We’re All Right! and Christmas Christmas, further showcases Cheap Trick at their most eclectic, touching on a myriad of distinct sounds and song approaches, from the swampy Chicago blues number, “Final Days” (featuring fiery harmonica from GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer and Wet Willie frontman Jimmy Hall) to a timely rendition of John Lennon’s still-relevant “Gimme Some Truth,” originally released for Record Store Day Black Friday 2019 and featuring the instantly recognisable guitar sound of erstwhile Sex Pistol Steve Jones. As irresistible and immediate as anything in their already awesome catalog, In Another World is Cheap Trick at their irrepressible best, infinitely entertaining and utterly unstoppable.

Founded in 1974, Cheap Trick are an indisputable American institution, beloved around the globe for their instantly identifiable, hugely influential, brand of pop rock ‘n’ roll. The band – Robin Zander (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rick Nielsen (lead guitar), Tom Petersson (bass guitar) – are true pioneers with an unparalleled streak of certifiably classic tunes, from “He’s A Whore,” “California Man” and “Dream Police” to “Surrender,”  “I Want You To Want Me,” and the worldwide #1 hit single, “The Flame.” 2016 saw Cheap Trick inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a long overdue acknowledgement of a nearly five decade career that has earned them more than 40 international gold and platinum certifications, myriad awards and industry honors, featured appearances on over 20 movie soundtracks, and total record sales well in excess of 20 million.

Cheap Trick – Zander, Nielsen, Petersson along with drummer Daxx Nielsen – are of course one of rock’s hardest working live acts, lighting it up at arenas, concert halls, and amphitheatres worldwide more than 150 nights each year. Alas, recent events have forced the band off the road for perhaps the longest hiatus of their storied history. Cheap Trick plan to return to the endless highway as soon as they can…

This band is held together by music,” says Robin Zander. “It’s the super glue that keeps us writing and putting records out. The reason we started the band in the first place was to tour and write songs and put records out. If all that went away, there would be no point then, would there?

In Another World Track List:
Here Comes the Summer
Quit Waking Me Up
Another World
Boys & Girls & Rock N Roll
The Party
Final Days
So It Goes
Light Up the Fire
Passing Through
Here’s Looking At You
Another World reprise
I’ll See You Again
Gimme Some Truth

News: ALICE COOPER Celebrates His 73rd Birthday With The Release Of The New Single “Social Debris” From The Forthcoming Album “Detroit Stories”

Happy Birthday to the legendary Alice Cooper!

At 73, he proves he is still one of the best and most relevant rock artists. In celebration, Alice has released “Social Debris” from his upcoming studio album “Detroit Stories”
To celebrate the special occasion in style, Alice Cooper has decided to offer “Social Debris” as free download for 24 hours on the artist´s website
www.alicecooper-detroitstories.com
“The single “Social Debris” is a gift to Detroit, to my fans and to myself”, says Alice Cooper. “The track was written by the original Alice Cooper band.

We never thought that we would ever fit in; the Alice Cooper band didn’t fit in with anybody, because we were doing things that no other band did. We didn’t fit in with the folk scene, we didn’t fit in with the metal scene, we really didn’t fit in with anything that was going on at that time. We just always felt like we were outsiders. We felt like we were social debris, we were in our own little world. So “Social Debris” was just the original band writing a song about us, essentially. And it came out sounding like it belonged into 1971. That’s just the original band – you can’t change that, it’s great.”

Detroit Stories,” Alice’s upcoming new album, is a celebration of the sound and spirit of the Golden Era of Detroit rock.

“Detroit was Heavy Rock central then,” explains Alice, “You’d play the Eastown and it would be Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, the Stooges and the Who, for $4! The next weekend at the Grande it was MC5, Brownsville Station and Fleetwood Mac, or Savoy Brown or the Small Faces. You couldn’t be a soft-rock band or you’d get your ass kicked.”

“Los Angeles had its sound with The Doors, Love and Buffalo Springfield,” he says, “San Francisco had the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. New York had The Rascals and The Velvet Underground. But Detroit was the birthplace of angry hard rock. After not fitting in anywhere in the US (musically or image wise) Detroit was the only place that recognized the Alice Cooper guitar driven, hard rock sound and our crazy stage show. Detroit was a haven for the outcasts. And when they found out I was born in East Detroit… we were home.”

50 years later, Alice and Ezrin have united in Detroit with their Detroit friends to record “Detroit Stories,” Cooper’s new album.

Vocals are handled respectively by Monte Barnard (ex-Alterbeast, ex-Fallujah), Stephen Mashburn (I Am Destruction), Sam Yates (Ingested), Jason Evans (Ingested), Andreas Bjulver Paarup (Cabal) and Lukas Swiaczny (Stillbirth) with guest guitar performances from Rodrigo Mora Campos (Noiseast) and Vance Valenzuela (Vale Of Pnath).

News: INTRØSPECT Sydney Progressive Metallers Release Single & VideoNews: For Mjolnir Set To Release New EP, Midnight Sun On March 19

The track is taken from the bands upcoming second EP, Midnight Sun which is slated for released on March 19!

The bands unique flavour of progressive metal blends post-rock and ambient influences to create a spiritual atmosphere in which the transcendent extremes of the human experience are given proper sonic treatment.

The band comment on the song; “Mjolnir takes its name from the Norse god Thor’s famous hammer, which grants him devastating power, and the ability to bend the forces of nature to his will. The song makes the case that we (as humans) now possess these godlike powers, but are not yet evolved enough to use them wisely – we are gods without grace.

The emotional through line of the song is one of anger; anger at the misuse of our technological powers, in the destruction of life on earth. This is our first song written primarily by lead guitarist Loko McDonald, and is the beginning of a new sound for Intrøspect, found in Loko’s ability to blend and arrange complex piano-led chord progressions with mechanically precise complex rhythms.

Guitarist and Mjolnir video director Jamie McVicker says of the video “For the Mjolnir video, It was important to create an image of the band that reflected the step up we’ve taken since the last EP, and provide a futuristic backdrop for the performance, mixed in with imagery from nature, and the earth from space. The aim was really to drive home the scale of the song’s interlinked themes; technological ascension & environmental genocide – the mark we are leaving on the earth , for better or worse”.

September 2019 saw the release of Intrøspects’ debut single Ad Astra. The video for the track quickly gained traction, amassing over 36 thousand views and blessing the band with a solid increase in listenership.  Intrøspect now hosts a dedicated fan base upwards of 7K monthly listeners on Spotify, across 80+ countries around the world!

Intrøspect’s much-anticipated second release is set to be a step up in every way. Being a 29-minute adventure through triumph, adversity, heartbreak & reverence. Solidifying their sound as uniquely distinct in the broader landscape of heavy music.

Midnight Sun was recorded with returning collaborator Chris Blancato (Northlane) and mixed from the UK by George Lever (Sleep Token, Loathe, Wovenwar).
Midnight Sun is slated for release on March 19
Pre orders are available soon!

2020 was a hell of a year for Sydney’s rising star. With a devastating personal journey to go along with a global pandemic she showed and continues to show just how inspirational, resilient and strong she is. The emotion drawn from her resonates in her voice which is put to centre stage demanding the spotlight.

‘Vybe’ is a heartbreaking love song showcasing Tazzy’s stunning vocals which intrepidly follows a crisp and clean production. From the start of the track the production is inviting and right until the end when a guitar is squealing back at Tazzy’s vocals, the whole track shows so much character. The single tells the story of two lovers unable to be together knowing full well that they want to be. Something that resonates with such an enormous amount of people and when matched with this much emotion and passionate vocals it combines for a big sounding RnB ballad destined to find fans everywhere.

“I am really proud of this song, I feel like it’s a really big step up for me from my last music and I am so excited for people to hear it. This one came from somewhere deep and I hope people can connect with the emotion that I poured into it.” – Tazzy

From her last dual single drop Tazzy has been relishing in her craft and levelling up daily. This is all the proof you need. Her EP ‘My Turn’ will be released on the 9th of August and with the traction that ‘Vybe’ is set to bring over the coming weeks this year is shaping up to be the year Tazzy really cements her mark in the industry.

News: 🎀 Amber Stone releases Hollywood inspired lyric video for brooding pop release, “Surrender”

AMBER STONES RELEASES HOLLYWOOD INSPIRED LYRIC VIDEO FOR BROODING POP RELEASE, “SURRENDER”
WATCH “SURRENDER” LYRIC VIDEO
Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Queensland Conservatorium graduate AMBER STONE today releases the lyric video to her new song, Surrender – a poignant recount of a mutual attraction that struggles to encounter the right timing to materialise.

Working with Mitch Chamberlain (Rise Against, With Confidence, Between You & Me, Hellions), AMBER wanted to bring to life her take of 1950s Hollywood glamour, “which I feel never goes out of style.”

“The vision for this clip was seamless,” tells Chamberlain, a Brisbane-based videographer. “From the moment I met Amber I felt her style and our ideas melded as if they were one and the same. She was an absolute joy to create with. Amber holds a type of glamour and grace that new wave Australian music has not witnessed for quite some time.”

A change of pace from her debut release, Being Yours, which earned her success at Australian Radio, AMBER reached out to Jarryd Shuker, Art of Sleeping band member turned producer to collaborate on the production. The result is an emotive, smokey pop track that will sonically seduce you with Lana Del Rey-esque vocals and commanding lyrics. The track forms part of her debut EP set for release in 2021, which is an amalgamation of songs written about the early stages of love from a relationship.

Surrender is about a prolonged mutual attraction where the timing never seems to be right. You are wanting to start a relationship and know that they are holding back and you’re asking them to take a chance with you and surrender to the feeling,” tells Amber of the track.

“I’m very proud of Surrender. The lyrics and the people I worked on it with all make it a very personal song for me. It took me a long time to release so I’m so excited to finally have it out in the world and share it with people. The song started out as a much longer ballad with much more lyrical content but when we got into the studio, things just moved in a different direction and I had to adjust the song in the moment for it to become what it is now.”

AMBER has been forging a career in music since she was 16 and was raised in a music household that nurtured a love for all genres. A love for artists such as The Beatles, Lana Del Rey and Bring Me The Horizon has paved a way for an eclectic tone of production to Stone’s music, showing a diversity beyond her years.

News: Gordi x Alex Lahey Team Up To Release ‘Dino’s’ In Time For Valentine’s Day, With Video

Gordi and Alex Lahey team up to release ‘Dino’s’ – a big, open-hearted song – just in time for Valentine’s Day. Many moons in the making, ‘Dino’s’ was inspired by the much-loved Nashville dive-bar of the same name from the pair’s time there in 2018. It arrives with an accompanying video from Melbourne based director and creative, Nick Mckk. Mimicking the look and feel of the dive-bar, the video spotlights the evocative and playful nature of the song and features cameos from both artists as a cast of affable local oddities.

“This song has been two and a half years in the making. We wrote it on a very humid summer’s day in Nashville before breaking for late night pasta and beer.”
Premiered yesterday on triple j Breakfast, much of the original recording of ‘Dino’s’ still exists from that humid Summer’s day in another world, although the song did later go through a series of final revisions in Sydney, Eau Claire and Melbourne.
“The song is inspired by the East Nashville dive bar institution ‘Dino’s’, which we both frequent on our visits to the city. The eccentricity of Dino’s makes it a place where it feels like anything could happen and anyone could walk through the door. The song captures the feeling of being totally captivated by the person sitting across from you while the world spins madly on. Anyone who has been to Dino’s knows that there is genuinely a Dolly Parton cardboard cut-out that lives in the bar and she is Nashville icon.”
Both artists have enjoyed prolific, successful careers globally. Gordi’s second record Our Two Skins was released in June last year and crowned a triple j feature album; making its debut into the Top 20 of the ARIA Albums Chart. It was also nominated for an ARIA Award and two J Awards – recognition of its depth, intricacy and beauty.

In addition to releasing her second record last year, Gordi also balanced work as a doctor, donning the scrubs to assist with under-staffed local hospitals in Melbourne during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She performed a debut, globally broadcast show at the Sydney Opera House, launched her very own VR immersive album experience titled Buried City and even managed to sneak in some shows at year’s end for fans in NSW. She is currently touring Australia for Our Two Skins and has just added a second show for Melbourne fans after selling out her forthcoming February date at The Forum. The new show will take place on March 12.

Alex Lahey broke through in 2016 with her hit song “You Don’t Think You Like People Like Me”, which earned her a slew of positive press including best new track on Pitchfork. Her debut record I Love You Like A Brother and follow up The Best Of Luck Club earnt her similar acclaim locally and internationally along with a performance on Late Night with Seth Meyers and main stage slots at festivals including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and Splendour In The Grass. With over 50 million streams to her name, three ARIA nominations, four Hottest 100 tracks and a gold-certified single for ‘Every Day’s The Weekend’ Lahey is one of Australia’s finest singer-songwriters.

Together, the pair have collaborated on a number of tracks for other artists – including co-writing a track for US pop-punk artist Maggie Lindemann and a forthcoming track for Annie Hamilton. ‘Dino’s’ highlights their natural prowess as singer-songwriters and sees their vocals coalesce in and around each other to create a delectable pop gem.
