Some songs age like wine, and some love stories transcend the test of distance and time. A single about the
struggles of long-distance relationships, written in 2017, perfectly exemplifies this. With a danceable catchy tune
that pops, carried by exuberant vocals, Sydney’s rising Pop Princess Felicity Light’s new and growing following
will definitely find every reason to stay with her music. This glamorous girl certainly knows how to debut in
style, with her fresh single ‘Need You To Stay’, now available on all streaming platforms.
Written by Felicity herself — with production by Jhay Cabrera and Andro Martinez, and mastering by Darren
Ziesing — the sweet, vibrant, and punchy track comes with an equally glossy and stylish music video, set for
release on December 4.

The video resembles a glittery dream sequence, created by the formidable creative team helmed by Sydney-
based Can’t Be Stopped Productions. The visuals highlight Felicity’s natural charm and powerful presence, which

positions her as a total performer and in a league of her own. Her light not only shines in the way she sings and
dances, but in her writing as well. ‘Need You To Stay’ was written back in 2017 while she was enduring a
lovesick heart on board a cruise ship, away from the love of her life. But happy endings prove to be true, as
Felicity is still with the same person she wrote the song for in 2017.
“I wrote the song in my cabin while sailing around Alaska after my new boyfriend had left the ship and returned
to his home on the other side of the world. I am so excited that we got our happy ending after six months apart
and out of a tricky situation, I now have my first single out in the world,” said Felicity.
Although she is still new in the industry, her experience as an artist and performer is outstanding. She has
worked as a singer-dancer on Celebrity Cruise ships, and has performed in the same capacity in China, Bali, and
New Zealand, among others.
There is certainly no backing down with this girl on fire, as she is set to release more singles in the coming
months. From the little girl who sings the whole Spice Girls album with her mum, to being influenced by the
music of Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, and Delta, to name a few, Felicity has definitely come a long way, and is
now set to make her own light sparkle and shine!

Bernard Fanning, Ruel, Mallrat and pretty much every other contemporary Australian act you can think of have all been enlisted to play brand new Adelaide concert series Summer Sounds Festival.

Over 30 acts are playing the series, which takes place from the end of this month through all of next month, including Lime Cordiale, The Jungle Giants, The Veronicas, Cub Sport and more.

Taking place from Wednesday, 30th December 2020 to Saturday, 30th January 2021, the event will be hosted by Adelaide’s Bonython Park.

Interestingly, tickets will have to be bought in pods of 4 – 6 people, and each group will have their own designated space to dance and enjoy the concert, with an eski on standby full of pre-ordered drinks and snacks.

In addition, fans can order more drinks via an app that will be delivered to you via a golf buggy. This is the LIFE.

GETTING BACK TO LIVE
FINAL SHOW HEADLINED BY BERNARD FANNING

Some 6,000 fans celebrated the return of live arena concerts to Australia on the
weekend at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney Olympic Park as Ocean Alley headlined
a euphoric show that reminded us all what we’ve been missing.

The show on Saturday November 28 featured Ocean Alley, Jack River and Ruby
Fields with support from Jack Botts was the largest indoor concert in Australia since
March 2020.

It was the first of two “Greatest Southern Nights” shows at Qudos Bank Arena, with
the hotly anticipated second show this coming Saturday December 5, headlined
by Bernard Fanning and Matt Corby.
Tickets are selling fast so you better get in quick to avoid missing out on these
premiere arena performances.

The Greatest Southern Nights are promoted by TEG Live and Live Nation with
generous support from the NSW Government and Destination NSW.
They are a small step towards getting the live industry back to the full capacity it
needs to be able to operate and support the same number of jobs it did before
the pandemic struck.

When COVID-19 struck in March, Qudos Bank Arena went dark which meant 22
shows were cancelled or postponed and almost half a million fans did not come
to Qudos Bank Arena as a result.

In normal times, 1 million fans per year come to shows and events at Qudos Bank
Arena, which has a capacity of 21,000 and is the 4th highest grossing arena in the
world, according to Billboard.

‘By Your Side’ is Melbourne indie duo The Indigos’ debut independent release. This enchantingly personal bedroom recording is steeped in rich guitar tones and entrancing vocals.

‘By Your Side’ is The Indigos’ cathartic rumination on the themes of longing, belonging and loneliness that have been central to 2020. Set to release on the 1st of December 2020 it is their self-produced debut single, meticulously produced over months of bedroom recording sessions throughout Melbourne’s lockdowns, where the duo were unable to play music together but found solace in creating ‘By Your Side’. The single brings the listener a deep sense of connectedness, expressing the sense of yearning we have all shared throughout 2020.

The lavish, plush melodies that reverberate through ‘By Your Side’ are delivered with a bold sense of fragility straight from the heart of frontman Kieran Rule. A listen to this introspective single takes exactly as long as it takes to sit back with a cup of tea and think about all the reasons you love the ones you’re missing the most.

Inspired by the lyricism and guitar driven sounds of Australian artists like Angie McMahon, Julia Jacklin, and Gang of Youths, The Indigos are Melbourne’s most tender songwriters. Their sound revolves heavily around lush production and intensely vulnerable lyrics. Formed in 2020 by like-minded collaborators, the duo consists of frontman Kieran Rule and guitarist Arthur Xafis who met while studying Jazz at Monash University and bonded over a love of the great rock, blues, and folk songwriters of the past. They cemented their musical partnership whilst performing in a Janis Joplin tribute show, which won an award at The Adelaide Fringe Festival. The two collaborated as a duo for the first time during Melbourne’s 112 day lockdown, writing, recording and producing ‘By Your Side’ from separate sides of the isolated city. Experimental Sydney-based duo Plastic Face have announced their brooding, delightfully bizarre new single HiiViSiON, an intriguing exploration into a very strange state of mind.

Firstly,,, We would need our old masks that we used to wear when we were growing up in the forest. Do you have a minute for a story?

We grew up deep in the Red Mountain Forest just next to the Third Mountain Sister. Just like clockwork us two sister boys William and Peter every evening at sundown would listen to our father Craig David Davidson tell wondrous stories, stories of hope and sadness, sometimes stories of a murderous scorpion king monkey man woman named “Julie” who would come out of his swamplands one new moon per year and drink the souls of our fellow Red Mountain men and woman out of a golden chalice shaped like an atlantic whale penis. Apparently drinking souls out of the whale penis shaped chalice gave the scorpion king “julie” special powers. On one particular new moon we Red Mountain forest folk went out hunting for snakeskin boots in the forest, deep into the hunt we were confronted by the king man woman swamp lord “Julie”. We had the customary dance battle when we initially were confronted and luckily our moves were on point that night. “Julie” the Scorpion King granted us one wish in return for not eating our souls and also kept telling us that we were great dancers. Our wish was to both wear masks for the rest of our lives so we could keep on dancing really well without people hassling us in Coles or Wollies for dance move requests and autographs. This is the story of how we came to wear masks.

2.Secondly we need drinks so lets say, we have to have a floating unicorn merry go round with a young 1996 Kevin Bacon and 6 other clones of young Kevin, each riding their own uniquely named unicorn serving us endless chilled cocktails with little umbrellas and caviar. We’d be like “Excuse me, Kevin’s!? Can we have a little more of that Moroccan dip to go with our caviar and we both need a cocktail top up”. One of the Kevin’s would ride their floating unicorn over , let’s say this Kevin’s unicorn’s name is Greg and do our bidding.

3.Thirdly we need tunes, how can anyone really go past Mariah Carey Christmas carols? So we would hire a sea shanty gaggle of bearded men to cover Mariah Carey’s covers of Xmas carols. If anyone in the green room stopped singing along at any point, they would immediately be removed by security. That brings us to our 4th point.

4. Security. Our security would be Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson directly off the set off Shanghai Noon, both of them decked out in cowboy gear securing the perimeter at all times.

5. We are going to get hungry so we need some food. Let’s go with a never-ending fountain stream of psychedelic acid-laced chocolate that when you drink from the wet fountain pond of enlightenment your lips would turn into your hands and your hands would turn into your lips and as soon as you know it you’re drinking multidimensional hand chocolate traversing the outer landscapes of the unknown universe.

A must that is 100% necessary is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson directly out of the 90’s in that high neck black skivvy picture going around, the fanny pack and thick silver chain on the outside of the skivvy. He would obviously be super stoned trying to get everyone to think the new Jumanji films are better than the classic Robin Williams Jumanji. Obviously no one cares cause the OG Robin Williams version is the bees knees.

7. We are going to need Cher’s entire wardrobe to choose our stage costumes from.

Dearly loved Australian singer songwriter, Bob Evans has today announced his new single Born Yesterday, a gorgeous, nostalgia-soaked rambler of a track, out today, Novermber 19. Born Yesterday is also accompanied by a beautiful, glowing video clip which serves as an ode to touring during a year where it was impossible. Bob Evans, the ARIA-winning alter ego of Jebediah frontman Kevin Mitchell, has graced the Australian music scene for more than two decades and has written some of the country’s most beloved songs and Born Yesterday will not disappoint his loyal audience.

Born Yesterday is perfect for that classic Aussie drive to the beach – it feels like summer holidays. Glistening guitars spread luxuriously as Mitchell’s idiosyncratic vocal hits those brilliant notes in the hook-laden chorus – then the track hits unprecedented highs with a killer sax solo right in the middle of the song. Produced by Steven Schram (Paul Kelly, Kate Miller-Heidke), Born Yesterday is a stunning addition to the Bob Evans discography, as Mitchell explains the inspiration behind the song, “I was backstage at a Jebediah gig when an old housemate from Perth messaged me with a link to our old share house we lived in that was for sale. We couldn’t believe it when looking through the photos of the house that it hadn’t changed at all since we lived there in the late 90’s. What followed was a slew of messaging between us, as well as the other two friends I used to live with in that house. It was my first share house after leaving home and the whole exchange between us and seeing the house again just brought back a lot of great memories from that time and age, my late teens and early twenties. I already had the music for the song pretty much written at that stage so all I needed was the lyric to go with it. It’s a deeply nostalgic song for me, looking back at a stage of my life that feels so long ago now, but at the time it felt like it would last forever.”

The clip for Born Yesterday captures this nostalgia flawlessly. Shot as though on a vintage super 8 camera, the viewer follows the Bob Evans touring party through gigs, travel, and recording, as the handwritten lyrics fade in and out as the melodies pass. It’s a perfect reflection of the mood of the song, as Mitchell describes, “My friend Arlo Cook has been taking footage of me at shows and in the studio for years and he came in to the studio while we were recording and took footage, not with anything in particular in mind. I knew the song would really suit a more abstract kind of video, because it’s about memories, so lots of home made visual snapshots was how I imagined it and then as COVID happened and lockdowns happened, it became more and more obvious that we should make that kind of video. So it mixes footage from the last few years with footage from during lockdown. There’s even a couple of seconds of my two kids at the beach in there as well. It will forever be a document of this strange year we’ve lived through, which I’m really happy to have captured.”
