Taking the world by storm, MAYHEM continues to dominate the charts and break records. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking Gaga’s seventh consecutive No. 1 album. In its third week, it remains one of the biggest releases of the year, still holding Top 10 positions across key charts including The Billboard 200, Digital Albums, and Billboard Top 200 Pop Albums chart. It also retains the No. 1 spot on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart— her eighth career No. 1 on the tally, making her the most successful artist of all time in the chart’s history. She now stands alone with the most No. 1 albums ever on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart.

The fastest-selling international release of the year, MAYHEMdebuted at No. 1 in 12 countries, including the U.S., UK, Germany, Japan, Italy, Canada, Australia, France, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, and South Korea, and landed at No. 2 in the Netherlands and Sweden—further cementing Gaga’s global dominance. “Abracadabra” entered the UK Singles Chart at No. 3 and the UK Airplay Chart at No. 2, while in France, MAYHEM posted the biggest first-week sales since Born This Way. In Japan, it ranked among the biggest international albums in recent years; in Finland, it was the only international album to crack the Top 10; and in Ireland, three MAYHEM tracks landed in the Top 40—reinforcing its worldwide impact.

In its first week alone, MAYHEM amassed over 240 million streams worldwide, marking her biggest streaming week ever. Since release, the album has generated over 5.2 billion global streams to date. Across her entire catalog, Gaga now surpasses 66 billion global streams, underscoring her longevity and global reach. MAYHEM also marked her biggest vinyl week ever, with 74,000 units sold across 14 collectible variants, some of which featured exclusive bonus tracks like “Kill for Love” and “Can’t Stop the High.” The digital edition of the album includes music videos for “Die With a Smile,” “Disease,” and “Abracadabra,” all of which helped fuel the album’s massive first week impact.

“Die With a Smile,” Gaga’s collaboration with Bruno Mars, continues to break records, securing a 15th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart. Tied ffor the second-longest running No. 1 in Billboard Global 200 chart history, the song has also spent 168 days at #1 on the Spotify global chart, the most of any song ever.

MAYHEM marks a return to Gaga’s pop roots, reaffirming that she is a master of reinvention, crafting an album that is as bold and eclectic as it is deeply personal. A declaration of artistic freedom, it embraces the fractured pieces of oneself and how they come together to form something unexpected and beautiful. The album mirrors this concept with its diverse sonic palette and thematic layers, combining elements of chaos, defiance, and vulnerability into a cohesive artistic statement. Gaga describes this process as assembling a shattered mirror: “Even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something memorable and whole in its own way.”

Critical Acclaim for MAYHEM:

“In a world of so-called lowercase pop, Gaga still has the caps-lock on in a bold, 96-point font, like she did in 2009. Throughout the album, she belts to the heavens and hits her marks with precision and flair, reminding her peers what a capital-E entertainer sounds like.” – NEW YORK TIMES

“Brash, squirmy, full of detailed grooves and expertly crafted hooks, it’s a winning reclamation of her trademark sound …and precisely the album you’d want her to drop before headlining Coachella, as Lady Gaga will do next month.” – LOS ANGELES TIMES

“Full of typically irresistible hooks and her signature sense of drama…Mayhem easily ranks with her best.” – WALL STREET JOURNAL

“Lady Gaga’s return to form…[an] instantly lovable, bombastic pop offering…[with] big, juicy, showy hooks…the kind that overwhelm the brain with dopamine and the hips with a need to move.” – THE NEW YORKER

“Mayhem makes a return to her trademark sound, but it also, more important, recalls her foundational ethos…As the album develops, it highlights all sorts of Gagaisms: oompah synth squirts, melodies that are like stammered sea shanties, vocals that swing between pageant-queen preening and gutter-punk growls…It is a muscular, gutsy, never-a-dull-minute work of bricolage. It’s also a warm, strangely moving collection about the passage of time.” –  THE ATLANTIC

“…a juggernaut so abundant in hooks, harmonic pivots, and gleefully indulgent production flourishes that it sounds like the result of a sinister plan to option every unclaimed hit on the marketplace and Frankenstein it into one maximalist pop symphony.” – PITCHFORK

“Gaga feels like her most authentic self from start to finish on this album: There’s no characters, concepts, or aesthetic impulses overshadowing the songs. Instead, she’s made one of her most sonically challenging and uniform albums yet: a mix of Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie, Prince and her Fame Monster-era self, rolled into the year’s strongest pop release yet.” – ROLLING STONE

“In a musical landscape concerned with “album eras,” Mayhem refuses to be easily categorized. Ranging from grinding industrial techno one moment to soulful, heartfelt balladry the next, Mayhem makes its title a thesis statement — the throughline is disorder.” – BILLBOARD

“Mayhem serves as a true return to form—delivering Gaga’s rawest and most experimental music to date.” – VOGUE

“Gaga has a way of revitalizing the touchstones of her earliest work on Mayhem without it feeling nostalgically lopsided. There are callbacks to former glory, but it sounds contemporaneously fresh, in lockstep with modern-day pop without chasing its most obvious conventions.” – VARIETY

News: Suki Waterhouse Announces Tour

RISING and Handsome Tours are proud to present Suki Waterhouse, making her Australian debut this June with two exclusive Melbourne shows as a part of Rising 2025.

Beloved British cool girl, Suki Waterhouse is jetting to RISING. After the runway shows, the hits and the heartbreaks, she’s back leaning even harder into the ephemeral punch of her music. Over two nights, she’ll light the mirror balls and showcase her new album Memoirs of a Sparklemuffin with her full band. One intimate show Athenaeum on the sixth of June, then an anextravaganza at PICA the next night.

Suki’s new set is a knowing nod to the nicotine-stained image of a “model, actress, whatever” growing up in the public eye. It embraces the sweeping Americana of her debut but widens canvas. From surges of late-90s alt, into Mazzy Star-style dream pop, ‘70s soft rock and flute-wielding folk jams—all delivered with heartfelt wit and dipped in reverb. Like she’s floating on an enchanted lake, surrounded by fireflies, sipping kombucha. Sighing at the tabloid fodder. Ready to rock the lily pad.

In 2026, prepare for the return of THE PLOT IN YOU to Australian shores, with the band today announcing a national headline run next January, joined by special guests FIT FOR A KING (USA), BOUNDARIES (USA) and BANKS ARCADE.

Kicking off on Wednesday 21 January in Fremantle, THE PLOT IN YOU will visit Adelaide, Chelsea Heights, Melbourne and Sydney, before closing out this mammoth visit on Friday 30 January in Brisbane.

A band relentlessly poised on the cutting edge of heavy music, THE PLOT IN YOU have cultivated ongoing critical acclaim and fan adoration since first forming 15 years ago. Hailing from Ohio, the group announced themselves to the scene via their 2011 debut album, First Born, paving the way for their soon-to-be-signature balanced and innovative take on metalcore tropes. Whether weaving elements of alternative, electronica, pop, R&B and beyond into their raw yet thunderous sound, one thing is always certain when it comes to THE PLOT IN YOU: expect the unexpected and hang on for an exhilarating ride.

No strangers to Australian audiences, THE PLOT IN YOU previously ticked off an entirely sold out headline run down under in 2023, before once again wowing Aussie crowds at Good Things Festival in 2023 off the back of their crushing single Forgotten. And as anyone who has previously experienced THE PLOT IN YOU in a live setting will attest, this is an act not to be slept on, with the one of the band’s previous Australian visits summed up by TheMusic.com.au: “…if you missed this tour, you missed what was actually possibly the metalcore show of the year.”

Over the years, THE PLOT IN YOU have crafted a gold-certified single (Feel Nothing), generated over 100 million streams, garnered praise from the likes of Billboard, Rock Sound and Alternative Press, and toured the world with multiple giants in the heavy world, including Bring Me The Horizon, Beartooth, Ice Nine Kills and Wage War. Ferociously dedicated to blurring genres and forging connections, THE PLOT IN YOU continue to purge negative real world experiences into captivating art, most recently witnessed via their 2021 fifth studio album, Swan Song, and in 2024 with their trilogy of EPs, Vol. 1, Vol. 2 and Vol. 3.

Erupting out of Texas in 2011, FIT FOR A KING swiftly carved out a name for themselves with a blistering style rooted in metal and hardcore, while also balancing out their raucous tendencies with plenty of hypnotic hooks and searing honesty for good measure. Releasing their breakout album in 2013, Creation/Destruction which debuted at #6 on the Hard Rock Chart, FIT FOR A KING have gone on to command multiple Top 5 debuts on the Billboard Charts, generate millions of streams, including fan-favourite tracks like When Everything Means Nothing, The Price of Agony and Breaking the Mirror, and have extensively toured the globe with Killswitch Engage, Motionless In White, I Prevail, Parkway Drive and The Devil Wears Prada. Most recently the group released their seventh studio album, 2022’s The Hell We Create, which scored critical acclaim for its soundscapes, instrumentation and lyrical vulnerability. FIT FOR A KING cherish unwavering honesty, even under dark skies, and their live show is the stuff of legend.

Connecticut metalcore collective BOUNDARIES have infused metallic hardcore with powerful melodies and poignant honesty since first emerging back in 2014. Unleashing a string of EPs ahead of their 2020 debut studio album, Your Receding Warmth, BOUNDARIES would follow on with 2022’s Burying Brightness and 2024’s Death Is Little More, with the latter spawning millions of individual streams via tracks like Easily Erased, Scars On A Soul, and Turning Hate Into Rage. Whether performing with Counterparts, Lorna Shore and Currents, or at their own headline shows, BOUNDARIES are renowned for their live presence and bring a perfect balance of chaos and unity to the table at all times.

Welding the intensity of metal with the energy of electronic and hip hop influences, heavy metal boyband BANKS ARCADE continue to cement themselves as one of the most innovative bands in the Australasian scene. Drawing influences from Saint JHN, Kublai Khan and Charlie XCX, BANKS ARCADE constantly teeter on the edge of modernity while defying genre boundaries, with their high energy performances and distinctive sound garnering a dedicated global fanbase. Having previously toured with the likes of Northlane and Holding Absence, sold out headline shows, and tours across the USA and the UK, BANKS ARCADE continues to sharply redefine what a modern heavy band can be.

Kick off 2026 with a bang with THE PLOT IN YOU returning down under next January – this is a tour absolutely not to be missed!

27 CLUB

Princess Theatre, Woolloongabba. 4th April 2025

Every not-so-often somebody comes up with an event concept which stands out. Whether it’s because of its sheer quirkiness (legit or created) or its white stellar brilliance, it breaks away from a crowed entertainment field of cow-grazing sameness.
27 Club. Holy hell, almost literally.
Princess Theatre at Woolloongaba, Friday night four days into April, showcased the 27 Club. Slightly obscure in mainstream conversation, but fiercely up-talked in musical urban folklore is the notion of an informal list consisting mostly of popular musos who died at age 27. It (the list) gets conveniently swelled by adding celebs, actors and anybody with a touch of notoriety at that age. The reality is we do lose some amazing artists – but not because there’s a curse, more often about the eventual effects of risky lifestyles.

Onstage at the Princess, the exceptionally talented live band provided for a rotating schedule of singers, the backing of songs from 27 Club members. Artists such as Jim Morrison, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and a tribute to blues artist Robert Johnson. The lighting, as always at the Princess – was sensational, coupled with massive floor to ceiling backdrops of the artists who made the songs famous.  It was a celebration of great memories was the atmosphere on this night.

News: Tim Minchin shares new single “Ruby” & announces new album TimMinchinTimeMachine

MULTI-AWARD-WINNING MUSICIAN
TIM MINCHIN
RELEASES NEW SINGLE “RUBY”
AND ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM
TimMinchinTimeMachine
OUT FRIDAY 25 JULY via BMG
PRE-ORDER / SAVE TIMMINCHINTIMEMACHINE
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Tim Minchin today releases his poignant new single “Ruby”, offering a first glimpse into his forthcoming album TimMinchinTimeMachine, set for release on Friday25 July 2025 via BMG.

A tender and deeply personal track, “Ruby” draws from a real-life story of a mother-daughter bond, complex, bruised, and ultimately full of love. Through lyrical candour and melodic grace, Minchin’s ballad celebrates Ruby’s iconoclastic, creative spirit, but urges her to go easy on her mother, and to hold on to the relationship, no matter how flawed. At its core, “Ruby” speaks to a universal truth: that we tend to want our parents to be perfect, forgetting that they, too, are the results of imperfect parents.

The official video, directed by D.C. Fairhurst and produced by Lucy Green and Michael Lynchfeatures Minchin alongside two performers, Linda Gamblin and Tayla Gartner expressing the mother and daughter’s story through dance. Each coloured frame reflects the spectrum of tension, heartbreak, and a heartbreakingly ambiguous resolution.

TimMinchinTimeMachine is a carefully curated anthology of 11 songs from his past: some long hidden in the archives, others revisited and reimagined, but all written before he became known. Together, these songs form a cohesive body of work that captures Minchin’s singular voice as a songwriter and storyteller. It follows his critically acclaimed debut studio album Apart Together, which earned four stars from The Independent, praised as “a tenderly considered pop album that subverts expectations.

Tim Minchin said: “Twenty years ago, when I fell into comedy, I put my hopes of a recording career on the shelf. After 2020’s Apart Together, I started thinking about properly producing some of the tunes I wrote in my prolific-but-obscure twenties. I was just going to leak these tunes without fanfare, but when BMG heard them, they convinced me that they deserved an album of their own. Young-me would be very stoked indeed to see this project live.

In celebration of 20 years since his explosive arrival on the UK comedy scene, Minchin will hit the road this UK summer with his ironically titled tour, Songs The World Will Never Hear. Kicking off on 4 June 2025, the tour will span 20 cities across the UK, including three sold-out nights at the legendary Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith.

Following the success of Apart Together and his acclaimed live performances across the UK and Australia, Time Machine signals a new chapter in Minchin’s musical journey, one that looks both backwards and forwards, capturing the beauty, complexity and absurdity of life through song.

“Ruby” by Tim Minchin is out now.
Tim Minchin’s new album TimMinchinTimeMachine will arrive Friday 25 July 2025.

ALISA XAYALITH
DROPS DEBUT SOLO ALBUM
SLOW CRUSH

SUPPORT TOUR WITH SUNDAY (1994)
STARTS APRIL 24 IN SAN FRANCISCO

April 4, 2025 – Today, New Zealand-born, Los Angeles-based artist Alisa Xayalith shares her debut album, Slow Crush, and accompanying video for lead track, “Alone With You,” directed by Brandon Black. Additionally, she has announced a support tour with Sunday (1994), which will start on April 24th in San Francisco, with stops in Seattle at Madame Lou’s and New York at Bowery Ballroom, capping off with a hometown show in on June 5th Los Angeles at The Troubadour – full routing below and get tickets here.

After a decade as one-half of The Naked And Famous, Alisa Xayalith is blooming into a solo artist. Slow Crush, is a collection of dreamy, intimate songs exploring love, loss, and personal growth. This is her story, told on her terms—a testament to resilience, love, and the quiet power of reinvention. The tracks become a fusion of triumph, heartbreak, and resilience, reflecting the complexities of human connection.

On the record Xayalith shares, “This album happened during a season when I felt myself shifting into the next phase of my career. I was yearning for a safe space to write and grow. I committed to prioritizing the health of my creativity, and as I did, love and romance began to fill the cracks in my life, leading to my eventual album. My process felt reminiscent of a slow crush building over time. It was the catharsis I needed to push me into this next chapter where I could simply be ‘Alisa Xayalith.”

The latest offering, “Alone With You,” was written during a challenging three-month stay in New Zealand while awaiting U.S. visa approval. Inspired by a brief, bittersweet call with her partner in Los Angeles, the track reflects the emotional toll of separation and uncertainty. The accompanying music video, shot in downtown Phoenix by Brandon Black, draws inspiration from Wong Kar Wai’s neo-noir crime drama, Fallen Angels. With a DIY approach and a tiny budget, much of the video was filmed through a car window, capturing a moody, romantic vibe that has become one of Alisa’s favorite visual projects.

ABOUT ALISA XAYALITH:
For Alisa Xayalith, music has always been more than just a passion—it’s been a lifeline. Born into a family of seven to refugee parents who fled Laos in the wake of the Vietnam War, she grew up navigating hardship and resilience in equal measure. One of the most defining moments of her childhood came at just seven years old when she lost her mother—a profound loss that shaped both her work and the way she sees the world. Her father later remarried, adding more layers to an already complicated upbringing, but Xayalith leaned into the only thing that gave her solace: music.

From school choirs and vocal groups to musical theatre, she found her escape in melody and song, picking up a guitar at thirteen and writing her own music. That creative spark only grew stronger, leading her to pursue music professionally after returning to New Zealand from a gap year overseas. It was at music school that the story of The Naked and Famous began. Over 850 shows later, global recognition, and records that defined an era, she now steps into a new chapter—one where she fully embraces her own voice.
